Today I am in my 2nd fast since I started again 5:2.
As I said in my previous post I was surprised about how little I lost after the fast day, but on the next 2 feed days even if I ate regurarly I managed to loose 500g. That is fantastic. My body is probably adapting again to the new regime and is a bit confused, but I am sure it will get on track fast.
My problem with the back is slowly resolving. I did my first 3 session of physio and I can walk properly without pain. I still have some pain sometimes when lying in bed or around evening when I am a bit more tired, but if I look back 3 weeks ago, now it is looking very good.
I don't know when I will be ready to run again, but I am looking forward to it, becuase I am starting to miss it and I cannot plan any race for the year and I don't really like it.
Well that's it for the day. Hopefully tomorrow the scale will once again smile at me.
Ciao,
J

Slept better last night but the night before was bad. Awake most of night trying to work out how I can do without carbs and the conclusion is I can't! Too much like a diet. I started fasting because I was tired of 'regimes'. I have thrown out all my diet books, and I had many different ones and will not buy any more. If I have a stir fry I want rice or noodles with it not shredded cabbage etc. I love toast and marmalade. I love baking and very much love eating the results. I love the freedom of eating what I want without feeling guilty. I am very happy fasting and am in the routine now, three times a week I do not eat all day and look forward to a modest evening meal. OK so my weight is not falling off but I am benefitting in other ways. I am back to size 12 which at 57 years old, three children and a hysterectomy is not too bad. There is more to life than measuring and weighing and worrying about what I eat. I realised I had become quite stressed over this carb thing and that is somewhere...

Fri, sat and sun are my relaxed days as i am at work from mon - thurs so i dont plan to fast on weekends.

on friday we had a thai meal and a lot of beers but no other meals than the thai meal, not sure how many cals as it was take away.. anyway i probably reached my 2000 limit with all that junk and booze.

on saturday we headed into town to shop and shared a bottle of wine, then i had the hairdressers so didnt eat until i got out of there at about six
we shared a sharing platter of sausages and ribs which wasnt huge but i guess very fatty! and that was all for today.. not much food again....

on sunday i woke up starving so we ordered fried chicken and chips and pizzas! i know! this is really really bad, we also had a lot of beers.

not the best of weekends but i like to enjoy myself
i am definitely limited the booze and fatty foods next weekend tho, its hard tho cos im young and like to enjoy myself and its all so yummy!

...yay, managed my fast with no problem. Started the day thinking I would not bother as wanted to eat. Gave myself a talking to and knuckled down. Every time I was tempted I told myself, no, have it tomorrow. For the first time I slept well last night.
My attitude is slowly changing and hopefully my weight will do the same. I refuse to get bent out of shape about my weight and am very much focusing on the health benefits. I now weigh just once a month and hope next month to approach the scales without fear!
I hope I am now settled with 4:3 and will stay with this for the foreseeable future. I am helped enormously by fellow fasters on here and for this I thank you all.
