I've completed my second fast day for this week, yeah! I think i'm getting used to not eating til lunch time, although my tummy gets pretty growly around 10am. I'm toying with the idea of fasting all day and having a 500 calorie dinner. That would be like heaven! I think I'll think about that a bit longer. I keep having to remind myself that i'm hungry because i'm fasting. I still feel a bit tired and a little headachy on fast days, but I always feel brilliant the next day!

Today I had Greek salad and tuna for lunch (229). My fetta cheese portion was meagre compared to what i'd usually dish up. Just 15g was 51 calories. Included was a token serve of olives, 3 = 40 calories. I had no idea of the high calorific content of fetta and olives! My late afternoon snack was a banana and a teeny portion of yoghurt (118).

For dinner I had miso soup. I alwyas feel like i'm doing something good for myself when i'm having miso, it feels so nourishing. And so low in calories!!! I buy miso...

I have always struggled with my weight. That sentence is probably the problem right there...

In fact I haven't always struggled with my weight. When I was a kid, I didn't struggle at all; I just ate whatever I wanted. And when I was a teenager, I continued to eat exactly what I wanted, but I was active and I LOVED being active - whether it was a dance class or a bush walk or a random baseball game or a leisurely walk on the beach. I wasn't any good at sports but I loved to be active. Somehow that kept the weight off, and effortlessly too.

But I always thought I was fat. Compared to some of the kids you see now, I wasn't fat at all. I was 'big boned' (what is that?). But not fat. That didn't stop kids from calling me fat, because inevitably I was indeed the 'fattest' kid in the class.

Even up through my first pregnancy at age 38, I remained fit and relatively 'unfat'. It was only after my second pregnancy at age 40, that the weight started piling on. I still ate exactly what...

Day four is my second fast day and so far so good! Headaches were awful on the first day but so far today, so good!

Mushrooms have become my new staple, which suits me down to the ground because I love them anyway!

So folks, here's my recipe for Creamy Garlic Mushrooms, so delicious that you'll feel like you're cheating!!

Ingredients:
- 4 Portobello mushrooms (Approx 45 Kcals)finely sliced
- 1 Shallot (6 Kcals)finely diced
- 1 clove garlic (7 Kcals) smushed up whatever way you like!
- 5mls Flora Cuisine (32 Kcals approx)
- 2 tbsp Philadelphia Light (60 Kcals)

Method:
- Fry the Shallot in Flora cuisine until softened
- Add the mushrooms and fry for about 15 mins.
- Add Philadelphia and stir very well. Leave cooking until the Philadelphia forms a sauce.
- Finally add the garlic.
I add a little water to make it go further but this is totally up to your taste. Also a little salt and pepper if you wish!

ALWAYS add garlic last minute as it tends to go very bitter if it is fried for too long...a...

Yesterday was my first repair day where I decided to go right through and have my main meal in the evening with just drinks (without milk) otherwise. Last main meal was at 6pm on Sunday then nothing until my 530 cal meal last night - a couple of hours rehearsal with the band and a hot chocolate before bed

I knew in advance that I would be getting some hunger pangs throughout the day so decided to do some work beforehand on what those feelings might mean for me.
Traditionally of course when you sense that feeling in your stomache, hear those rumbles, you instantly turn on the internal dialogue that goes something like- "ah, ok, this means I'm hungry and I must stop whatever I'm doing right now and go and forage in either the pantry or the fridge for something to scoff!"

So - I sat myself down in a quiet place on Sunday evening and had a little chat with...

Yesterday was a fast day (I'm still ADF'ing to repair for holiday). Still not stepped on scales.

Saturday (Feed Day)
Calories 1307 (TDEE is 1455). More about that in a moment
Carbs 35% (107g)
Fat 50% (68g)
Protein 14% (43g). This is under my 59g-114g current 'target' range for TDEE days

Saturday Food
Breakfast - Large bulletproof coffee
Lunch - Home made prawn korma followed by home made low fat, sugar free tea loaf
Dinner - Roasted garlic and califlower soup, v small piece of walnut and date rye with raw goats cheese, medjool date

All very lovely. Still had calories over and felt stuffed, so decided to use the rest of calories on vino. Quelle horreur   I could not drink it! I managed about a third of a glass and chucked the rest down the sink. This has never happened before. It's...
