I have never written a blog before, but felt it might be useful for keeping on track, and also to put down some tips that I've found helpful.

I first started 5:2 on 24th August 2012, about a fortnight after the Horizon programme. My weight was around 10 stone, far too much for my 5'0" body. By Christmas I had lost 12lbs and had high hopes for getting below the 9 stone barrier for the first time this century. However, then Christmas and a long, wonderful holiday in New Zealand happened, and when I returned in March 2013 I weighed 9st 5lbs. Not too bad considering, but then why, oh why didn't I get back on what is easily the best and easiest 'diet' I've ever done?

To cut a long story short, by January 1st this year I had gone back up to 10st 1lb. Time to take control.

As of last Friday (weigh-in day for the Easter Challenge) I was 9st 4lbs and I'm feeling great.

I do kettlebell class once a week (on a fast day!)and jog approx. 1.5 miles twice, and...

Another steady loss and this morning, I weigh 12.2.
As I'd hoped to be under 12 for my holidays, I should be disappointed, but looking at the whole process, I'm really very pleased!
I am just glad I started this way of life! I could have been going away even heavier than I was at Christmas, had I not taken the bull by the horns.
Bit of a bonus really; we sorted out one of the cupboards in the spare room and we found a pile of hardly worn summer clothes, all in smaller sizes! Even some much loved favourites - Ok, if I were a trendy young thing, I might not wear them, but I'm not!

There is another bag of current clothes ready for charity!

Carry on losing, Penny....

I must be a maniac. That's the only explaination for my feast day free for all.

The kids at my school were testing all day yesterday and I was responsible for monitoring the hallways. I had a comfy chair, reading materials, and snacks. From tacos, Reeces pieces, red licorice, and other assorted crapola, I never stopped eating.

If it was a normal work day I would not be snacking all day. But in testing days gone by I snacked and read, and oh yes monitored the hall. To add insult to injury I stepped on the scale today and from Monday's low I gained 4 lbs.

Thank goodness it's a fast day today. I am not stepping on the fricking scale until my next weigh in. I am sad that my old habits are still hanging on... My heart is deep today. Paula AKA Rocky JP :frown:

So I did my second fast yesterday. I lost 3 pounds on my first fast and another 1 on my second. 4 pounds in 4 days is absolutely fantastic! My skin is smoother and I feel healthier and better about myself already.
I also decided to do my fast day at work and see if I survived it. Honestly, I was absolutely fine. A bit of a rumbly stomach but otherwise good. I work in retail and I'm on my feet all day. I go from running around moving heavy stock to standing at the till on a quiet hour with no distractions, so I was worried. I was convinced that I'd get dizzy and ill, as I used to feel dizzy if I didnt eat, but I'm so pleased that I felt ok. It just goes to show that a lot of physical symptoms can just be in your head.
My body can handle a lot more than I thought it could.
I'm so happy I made the decision to start this WOE. Actually excited for my next fast day because I know I can do it!
