So...I did it! I don't know if I can actually say that yet, given it's only 10:04 am and I did eat a super light breakfast. After excitedly and, to be perfectly honest, a little guiltedly looking at the obligitory "fatty" photos, DH and I decided it best to embark on our journey with a little something in the morning, followed by our low-cal victory dinner tonight. I didn't want to send him to work without a little kick start (he was so cute leaving with his flask of tea this morning :victory:). It's been 2.5 hours and I'm starting to feel the pangs...

I read that hunger comes in waves. I hope so. I'm trying to keep busy but I'm running out of things to do (my current job is looking for work - I'm a contract teacher). Although, I'm grateful nobody called me in for work today - I think I feel a little safer knowing I can make myself a cup of tea or lay down if I'm feeling a little...

Here goes.

It's been a very up-and-down year since I started 5:2ing last May. I thought my 'fastiversary' would come by and I'd be a stone lighter and infinitely happier, but alas my low boredom threshold and hectic home/uni lifestyle split has meant I haven't stuck with fasting for longer than about 3 months at a time. I'd like to change that now.

My original SW was 9st 11lbs, which utterly terrified and disgusted me. I am short, but very curvy, and every pound makes a difference when you have a small torso. My legs are quite long and no worry at all, but I put on weight all over because of my hourglass frame. I stepped on the scales this morning and I was 9st 12.5lbs. At my worst (now), I measure approximately 41-29-39. At my best, I've measured around 38-27.5-37.5. I'd like to get there again. But these are all just numbers, really, and what's more important is the way I feel about myself.

I know that the most important part of any lifestyle choice is to not beat yourself up if you...

Just a brief update....

I weighed myself today...18 stone 4 pounds!!!!!!!!

Now for some that might seem horrendously high - but it is another weight loss! (And I was much heavier a year ago!)

3 1/2 pounds off this week! This just shows that last week's gain was a blip (I WAS feeling really bloated!)

Hoping for a good week this week - I have a GP appointment in a weeks time - and he will want to weigh me. (For some reason he weighs me every time I see him - I swear if I went to him with an ingrown toenail he would blame it on my weight!) I'm really hoping to give him a (pleasant!) shock!

Non-fasting day today - and I have homemade rice pudding with cinnamon-stewed-plums for tonight. I LOVE the fact that I can enjoy treats like that without feeling guilty!

Today is my 100th Fast. My Fasting Anniversary is coming up in a few weeks (July 2nd). I have lost about 30 pounds. I'm a bit disappointed by that. I really thought I'd have lost more weight by now. But I've been struggling with a killer plateau and so progress stalled for quite a long time.

This last week was encouraging though. I stayed below 200 pounds for the entire week. Usually on the days between fasts, my weight pops back up above 200. But this week it stayed in the 190's. Today, my fast day started with 199. But this is still a victory. Hopefully this means I'll be moving into some new territory soon. I really would like to get back to making solid progress again because I still have a long way to go.

Onward!
