Not too bad really , I had eggs and smoked salmon in the morning following a 2 mile run , I waited as long as I could before I ate. Few carrot sticks thru the day. 3 litres of water , then a bowl of stew for tea and 4 crab sticks ? N I never thought I wud do it but well worth it when got on scales and lost 2 lb this morning :)

Gonna try and stick to 1200 calories for the rest of week apart from Sunday when it's a 50 th birthday meal ! Do u still think I will lose ?

I want to lose about a stone and like many others I have done every diet under the sun apart from this one. , so fingers crossed x

Well, today has been my first fasting day and I have found it quite easy. I am sure this is because I have only just started and I am enthusiastic and excited about the prospect of losing weight in this new way to me.

I have spent my whole life trying to control my weight, juggling work, my one and only child, family and my dogs single handed for the majority of my time.

I needed something that did not mean too much planning was required as I just don't have the time to spend hours planning meals. Lucklily, as I do spend a lot of time on my own at home I do freeze quite a lot of what I cook into portions, so it does not take too much effort to work out and write on the containers the calories within.

This will, I hope, stand me in good stead for fasting days.

Well, I will try and write this blog each day or as often as possible, not only for something to look back on in times of weakness but also I hope in time to encourage others to try the plan too. I aim to put my daily menu on...

I have dropped 22 Kgs since I changed my lifestyle. Throughout this period I not only lost the weight, but also undertook quite a serious fitness regime to achieve a charity race over the distance of a marathon. I am happy to report that I achieved the goal of the race, but managed to injure my knee which meant that my fitness level dropped substantially. I was really concerned that some of my weight loss was attributed to energy burn and that my metabolism would slow. I have news to report. My weight loss has continued, which is great, and my knee has healed. Yesterday I booted up and walked the hills.

I have been following the progress of a couple of friends who have been on a different diet. They really lost huge amounts of weight in the early stages of their regimes. I have been a 5:2er since January, which is after they started. The results thus far. 1 friends has reversed and bloomed, and the other is weight gaining.

The message to myself is... This lifestyle feels...

This week has had some trials, I think I'm over the worst of it right now. On Monday I had to take a day off work because I was in so much pain with my back, which is what I was afraid would happen once I started physio again. So Mondays fast day was pretty easy, laid in bed all day sipping water and black coffee. Over the weekend I had been talking to my best friend Michelle who is starting weight loss again and has seen the results I've had with IF and wants to combine that with paleo- we then had a long talk about carbs and something in my brain snapped, this week I wanted to try low carb. I have resisted anything sweet (a huge achievement for me), crackers, cakes, I don't eat bread so that's a no brainer. Only tricky part has been dinner when I don't cook for myself, I've been leaving potatoes and sweet corn and anything remotely carb-esk and it's paid off! Yesterday I was 93.5kg!!! I never thought I could get down this low, I felt on top of the world!
Today I had an appointment at...

Finally - got my groove on today. Lunch one chia pod and supper was a cucumber and tomato salad with cider vinegar.

Calories 207
Carbs 54% (30g)
Fat 37% (9g)
Protein 9% (5g)

Yesterday at the office, one of my colleagues bought me a burger for lunch from a chain called In N Out. I can't believe I ate it (including the fries). One hour later, I had palpitations. Lord only knows what was in it. I found out afterward that they do a protein only one which is basically a burger wrapped in lettuce rather than a bun.

I regretted it this morning when I saw the sky and realised shorts weather has arrived here. I have basically been in something of a holding pattern since I got here - gained a bit, so it's time to start thinking about the summer. I had originally given myself a year to lose all my weight. However I have a wedding to go to just before my annual fastiversary, so I need to start thinking about picking things up properly again. Thanks for sticking with me everyone and giving...
