Later this week our family holiday will begin, and I am really looking forward to it for the fact that I am no longer a quivering mass of obesity. And at this point, I apologise to those on 5:2 who are still up there. Being obese for so long, I am indulging myself.

Having lost some 18kgs or so, I have even taken to removing my shirt in the garden.

I am still 5kgs off my target weight, but the holiday will full of swimming, walking, jogging, and socializing with my super toned friends.

This lifestyle has turned back the clock, and spurred me forward. Tomorrow is my fast day. I really enjoy them.

Enough for now.

I was mooching around the threads yesterday keeping out of the biscuit tin ( fast day) and left a couple of comments about no weight loss. Justdee, who is very on the ball you know questioned the fact I do not weigh and go by how my clothes feel. I was feeling a bit down due to my jeans remaining tight. So, at her suggestion I dragged the scales out of hiding and this morning clambered on with my eyes shut. When I dared to look I nearly fell over.....4lbs off! That is after two weeks of 4:3. I understand that it takes more than that to make clothes feel different but wow, what a boost. I will now weigh on the first of each month. Just looked at my tracker, that is all wrong now so will do one of my own on paper ( how old fashioned is that) and will buy a little notebook today. They do not have lined paper here, it is little boxes, perfect for numbers!
So here I am, two weeks in four pounds off. It really is a miracle!

Well, have eaten normally for the last couple of days. My recommended allowance is 1660 on a rest day, but if I have to start counting calories it's a diet, and if I feel like I'm on a diet then it wont work, so want to see how I go first with just counting calories on the fast days. Then if that doesnt work I'll maybe have a rethink.

For now, obviously dont feel like I'm dieting at all. Tomorrow's my second fast day though, but strangely I'm looking forward to it... and I know that I dont have another 'diet day' until next Monday then.

Really hope this works... it's so much easier than all the other diets if it does...

Well, another fasting day is drawing to a close.

The colder weather is certainly altering my focus on what to eat.

Porridge is my go-to breakfast on a fast day. Actually it's pretty much my favourite breakfast most days in autumn/winter. The difference being I would add a banana on non-fast days.

Added fruit or not - porridge is nicely satisfying on a fast day.
And it leaves a pleasing number of calories over for a warming meal in the evening.

Leek and Lentil soup with a low fat sausage cut into it.
Omelette with a little ham and some grilled tomatoes.
Home-made burger - no bun! - with portion of veg.
Chilli beans with a little rice on the side.

This plan IS doable!

I am wondering about a hot drink tonight. I could go for a herbal tea - but it is raining ....I was thinking of something a little more comforting....maybe a low-fat chocolate drink - perhaps I could make it with less powder than suggested?...might try that....or one drink I have come to rather like...a tiny drop of...

Day 22 on the diet. It's going by quickly and I'm down about 2.5 pounds in 3 weeks. I had hoped to be more but I know its my own fault - weekends are a mare and I have been eating the wrong types of food too. Last night I got no sleep. As I suspected, we were back at square one with the sleep training after the weekend away. Little man woke from 315am until 550am. So I just got up. My back is much improved though but I am wrecked. Night off tonight.

Today is World Premature Baby day and we shall be celebrating it with the hospital I gave birth in. Its extremely emotional and I have a lump in my throat all morning. I didn't do the best today as I know I'd be eating out. It looked like this:

Bfast: 2slices toast (174)
Lunch: chicken sambo and chips (768)
Dinner: Haribo jellys and half pizza (536)

Total 1478 and none of it very healthy. I didn't even like my lunch and only picked at it in the pub. HOwever, its better to overestimate the calories. I wouldn't have eaten the pizza only I know...
