I decided to get on the scales today because I was feeling rather large. The fist week on the plan went fine, the second week however I was on Holiday. I managed only one fast day but did skip a couple of meals here and there, mainly breakfast, other than that it was quite an indulgent week.

So even though I had decided not to weigh in for a while I thought I had better see what damage the holiday had done. I was quite surprised to discover that I was the same weight, I'm quite happy that, even with all the wine, fish and chips and icecream I have not gained anything other than a bit of bloating.

Fortunatly I am at home for the next few weeks instaed of being stuck behind a desk so I want to make a real effort to get my body fat down a bit and get a bit fitter before I start back at work.

So I have two fast days to fit in before Sunday, I'm doing one today and one Saturday. I think being flexible with the days will suit me best as I am finding it easier to fast on the days that I am...

Well here goes!

I've had around two months of celebrations, invlolving good food and lots of alcohol. I'm glad to say, that I haven't gained weight over the period, as when not actually celebrating, I have been pretty mindful. However, there have been some blood glucose scares at times, so today I've made a decision to get my act together again by eating healthily and staying away fron alcohol as much a possible, as it clearly is not good for me.

I recently watched something about how eating raw foods was an excellent way of controlling diabetes, so I'm considering experimenting with that a little, but probably not always eating in that way. I am not diagnosed as diabetic, but I was hovering on the cusp of diabetes, so I need to take care.

So, from now on I'm committing to mainly raw foods in a three - five hour eating window.

I thought that going public here would help me to stay focused. Wish me luck.

My starting point: Im 22, 5'7 and 13.4 stone and unhappy. Im constantly thinking about who i look and how people see me. Ive done diets since i was 14 which usually dont work and im too impatient to wait to see the results. Im finally putting all my faith into this 5:2 diet that sounds like it could be the answer to all my problems. Im looking to get down to around 10.4 stone as that is apparently in the middle of healthy for my bmi, this could be a good reason but its up for change as it will depend on how i look and feel. this could mean i need to lose more or not as much. I think that is every thing. Now down to the fasting.
So today is offically my first fasting day and so far im feeling great! not anywhere near as hungry as i thought i would be, but i still have tomorrow morning to get through. I decided that i was going to do a 1pm-1pm fast as it works out better with my working day and it doesnt seem as long as if i did it 7am-7am! So its 8:30pm and ive just had my first meal since...

Not fasting today, cannot get my head round it at the moment. From Wednesday I will have 8 days away with not much control over what I eat. All I can do is try to limit quantities.
Yesterday when I went to clean out the duck house I Lund a half hatched egg on the ground outside. At first I thought it must be dead but had a look and peeled a piece of shell off and it cheeped! It felt very cold so I put it in the incubator. I freed the beak to ensure it could breathe. The umbilical cord and a large piece of shell was still attached. This morning the duckling is still alive but attached to the cord. That should fall off today. The duckling has still not stood up and seems to be unable to lift its head. It won't need to feed until this evening so hopefully by then it will be on its feet. No sign of anything on the other eggs but they must be due to hatch very soon. Perfect timing when I have a friend looking after them whilst I am away!
Lots to sort out today and a phone call this afternoon...

I was waiting for my car to be fixed, so had a couple of hours to kill. I hadn't eaten anything so thought I might fast today and then do Friday as well. But got to boots and saw the sushi. I know it's not the best you can buy but I had to have it. Sat by the river munching and enjoying the sunshine. Love the flexibility of 5.2. And my son got a job today he's only 17 well done him. It's not what we would have wanted our son to be doing. It's in a meat packaging factory. I'm looking forward to the cut price beef and lamb! But he got it all by himself. So passed driving test and got a job within 4 weeks. Another reason not to fast today. Wine will be drunk  tonight.
