Weight: no data

No chance to weigh this morning but yesterday looked a little like this

9am: homemade paleo granola & coconut yogurt with blueberries & rasberries (yum) (554)
1pm: homemade tomoto and coconut milk soup and 2 fatdog brown rolls with almond butter (630 yikes)
dinnner@ oven chips & veg (320)
snacks: oven baked kale

Total 1700 cals. carbs :155 - very high. Yikes breaky and lunch are a bit high in cals. May need to limit the coconut milk in my soup as it makes it carby but doesn't add enough taste in my opinion. One note, I had a pain in my tummy after dinner and I wonder did the over fries agree with me. Not sure. The carbs were a bit high but as it was sunday I won't cry too much. Easy enough day, mostly the question is about what sauce to put on the vegetables. There's not much else to think about, I don't want curry every day so have to think of some way to thin out my pesto without using dairy products like cream cheese or cream. suggestions?

Well - I'm 3 weeks into this thing now - and i've got to say that it ia bringing good results so far. Strictly keeping to the 600 calorie intake on a Monday and a Thursday - i have been eating pretty much what i want on the other days . This doesn't seem like dieting at all!! yet i'm loosing weight - 8 lb in 3 weeks. I was astonished to see that i'd lost 3 lb this week after over indulging on barbecue and sweet products ! :-o Anyway - i would recommend this 5:2 stategy to anyone who has any doubts. Looking forward now to getting in some clothes that have been sitting idle in my wardrobe .Cheers everyone!

The first time I ever heard of 5:2 was when I watched the famous Horizon documentary. It was broadcasted in the beginning of July in the Netherlands and for some reason it grabbed me. It was the curiosity of Michael Mosley combined with the stunning medical results, I guess. If fasting has such a positive effect on glucose levels, blood pressure, insuline levels and cholesterol, it must be something healty, I thought.

I have weight issues for about 15 years now (BMI-wise going up and down between 27 and 23), but have never joined one of the populair diets. Never tried Montignac, Sonja Bakker (famous in the Netherlands), Atkins or any of those other (in my eyes crazy) diets. This was the first time I really considered jumping on the bandwagon. It was because of the incredible results (other than weight loss), it was because it seems something you could stick to for life, something I could combine with my normal vegetarian (and pretty healthy) eating style. And (very important) something...

I have not fasted since Thursday. I did not complete Friday's fast in the end, yesterday was something of a wipe out too. Both occasions involved cheese again.

It's probably the festive season, the constant rounds of meeting people, dining out and entertaining. I feel like Christmas has arrived a week early. Up until now, I did not feel guilty about over indulging, but today it feels like I have crossed the line, too scared to get on the scales and and reminding myself that I need a couple of days discipline.

I do have a two day window now. Its quiet until Christmas Eve and even then this year its only OH and I as we have now done all of the rounds. So there is no excuse to complete fasting routines yet still have a lovely time. I'm really looking forward to us both getting some quiet time together for the next couple of weeks.

If the weather stays good, we are going to fly to Mallorca on the 29th for New Year. Have not been since early September so quite excited to see everyone...

well day one is nearly up and im glad i managed. it wasnt difficult until i sat down then hunger grumbles kicked in. a bit of a foggy head even though drunk tea and so far 1ltr of water. dinner was amazing and now feel stuffed...or maybe thats the water. changed meal for turkey and roasted veg...yum yum. manuka honey and blackcurrant drink even though cost me just over 100 calories was a god send for the low sugar dizzyness. will have to watch out for that on the second day. will find it a lot easier when back at work with things to take my mind off the monsters in my tummy. just wating for 10 pm to roll up so i can have some squash.

now to work out the next day for fasting and hoping its easier. got some lovely recipes for main evening meals thanks again to Jillian.

omg my son has just walked in with a slice of cake...the lil so and so :curse:
