So I finally got out on my bike this morning. Why on earth I thought I could just breeze round the hilly circuit I struggled with last year I don't know. It was hard, hard, hard. Off to cycle round Brittany in three weeks so I need to get out regularly before then and get a lot fitter.

Fasting today but have changed my normal pattern of eating a snack and then rest of calories in the evening. Have just eaten 550 calories so won't be eating again until tomorrow evening. Will be interesting to see how I feel this evening. It's 1.30 now so I have all afternoon and evening to go. Hope I don't go to bed too hungry.

Swimming twice a week at Hathersage open air pool and doing two Pilates classes. Feeling slimmer and my clothes are definitely fitting better or even too loose! Will try to resist scales until next week and then hoping for some good news.

I'm probably running about 400-500 calories over my target fast calories of 1,000 on fast days. Nevertheless, I'm still getting the empty feel in my stomach -- so I can't be doing too badly. I've long ago given up using a food diary. Still, the 6 months or so that I did it, gives me the skill to intuitively sense how I'm doing during these periodic fasts. I'm about 3.5 pounds away from my target weight. My hope is that at that weight, I will be able to sprint up hills faster and let me do some of the strength yoga poses, such as the crow stance or planche.

Went back to weight watchers in desperation and lost 7 lbs. have now lost the plot big time. Life is very difficult just now. A much loved cat is in hospital with hemolytic anaemia. A very serious condition. She is being tube fed and we are taking one day at a time. They have transfused her once which has helped and yesterday she ate a little for the first time in weeks. This has all been made more difficult by the fact I live in France and although my French is fairly good there are gaps!
The extra care sheltered housing place my father lives in is closing. He is on the waiting list for another place but as of tomorrow there will only be two residents in the home. Because of this the company have closed the kitchen and will provide microwaved ready meals. There will be a manager on site Mon- Fri 9-5. A sleeping carer will be on site 10-7 to 'cover' the night. At weekends someone will come in to sort dinner and tea. My father has dementia, cannot use a telephone or emergency call button....

Yahoo, stepped on the scales this morning and have shed the weight I'd put on, through very poor choices the week before, plus extra! So very happy with the consistency of 5:2!
I now find I look forward to a fast day, well the first one of the week to be totally honest, that second one can still be a grin and bare it LOL
Yesterday had a lovely bit of lemon meringue pie with cream, seriously yum! Apologies to anyone fasting and reading this  Still though I stuck to my recommended calorie intake around it, had more veggies and fruit, less carbs. Feel great this morning
I just feel so much better in myself, feel more in control of my choices, becoming more planned with food on fast days.
One thing though that I continue to struggle with, my own self image. Interestingly in spite of practically...

Nowadays I love waking up to a Tuesday, or a Friday.

Tuesday and Friday mornings I wake up a supermodel. I'm Helena. I'm Claudia (yes, I'm nearing 40 so understandably not Cara, Karlie & co.) I'm lean, able and in control. I'm all long limbs and glossy hair.

Finally I can break the fast = hello breakfast! I can make that milky coffee and have a slice of that nutty, fruity bread that I adore. With cheese! And there are those pink grapefruits too! Mmm, if it's a Friday I might even get a croissant. Have it with pear jam. But wait. First I've got to make it perfect. Let's first feed the daughters, dress them and pack their bags. Let me just jump in the shower, quickly get dressed and do my hair. Ok. I'll just quickly drive the girls to nursery.

Right.. might as well go to the office.

Might as well answer these two emails first.

Might as well... ROAR.

Might as well sit down. Hello milky coffee and nutty bread with a slice of cheese. If it's a Friday, hello croissant with pear...
