Didn't feel like blogging when I first got the news about the website, but decided I would keep things going for a little while.
Managed an okay fast/light day on Saturday, tho was hungry mid afternoon and had a snack of hard boiled egg and gherkin. Had some food in the evening after dinner, but that was a conscious decision and I was fine with that.
Yesterday I did end up eating more than I would have liked... Went out for afternoon tea, and enjoyed the cake. That was fine. Brekky and lunch had been normal. But my dinner meal was disappointing, a soggy stir fry with too much soya sauce... So I think that may have been why I wanted to eat some crispbreads, for something crunchy. But I also had choccie (equivalent to a small bar) and some dried fruit and nuts. Enjoyed it, but didn't need it. Trying not to obsess tho...!!! I note that I didn't keep my hands busy with knitting or colouring in, I was just watching TV. So I do need to keep occupied. And drink water first if hungry.

Yesterday I didn't have lunch til 5pm!! I had some shopping to do and thought I would get it done quickly first thing in the afternoon and then have a later lunch. But not that much later!
I had to get something to eat when I was out, as I was stressed, tired and light headed. Settled for a pear. Had my usual lunch once home, but a smaller serve of salad. Delayed dinner til almost 8, didn't really feel hungry but I knew if I didn't eat a decent meal then, I might end up snacking on whatever.
I did have choccie with my decaf when I sat down to watch The Code and The Tunnel, 2 great shows. It was a conscious choice although I was eating for emotional reasons. And I had more than I would ideally have had, but I savoured and enjoyed every mouthful, and was able to stop myself having anything else, when part of me wanted to. (I was feeling emotional and fragile for a lot of the day. I was singing along at the top of my voice with the wonderful Teddy Tahu Rhodes "Some enchanted evening"...

As I expected, I did have some food after dinner yesterday... I managed the day with just 2 pickled gherkins, and then roast chook and veg, followed by an orange for tea. I allowed myself a small amount of chocolate, a banana and a few dry roasted peanuts (I love these, can't find them anywhere but 2 outlets in Qld!) and a slice of cheese.
I have decided that I will not do strict cals on fast days. I will endeavour not to eat til dinner time, and I will eat enough in the evening to ensure I don't feel hungry at bedtime. I can cope with hunger during the day, but I am not going to do so at other times. Some days I may be happy to not eat in the evenings. We will see.
Felt good this morning, really looked forward to my std brekkie, that I didn't have til 11am after walking the dogs and an hour on the treadmill (caught up with a fave TV show at the same time). Loved the brekkie. Eating does make me want to eat more, but I have taken on board the "wait 20 mins" and that does seem...

Wmr309's comments have certainly given me food for thought. No pun intended.
Anyway, yesterday I ate my std brekkie and lunch, and had lots of veg with a small amount of bolognaise sauce for dinner, plus the orange. No cravings or wish to eat in the evening, but I made a conscious decision to have some chocolate, for emotional reasons (!) but I had no problems with that decision, and only had a relatively small amount (for me!).
Felt good this morning, have fasted so far, as per normal Wed fast, because it fits my routine not to eat til mid pm. I am deciding whether I will have a late lunch, or wait til dinner time. I will perhaps let hunger dictate??

Hello readers!
Crikey - it's been quite a while since I last wrote a blog! I've just realised that I failed to pop in here to document the final results of the 8 week BSD. I did write all about it on the thread at the time, but just to summarise, I ended up losing 31.2lbs in total!
In addition to losing...I also gained allsorts! Confidence, self-esteem, happiness to name but a few. I was rightly proud of myself for sticking at it for the entire 8 weeks - and believe you me - if I can do it, anyone can...honestly!
Strangely, even though I had told myself I would slacken off after 8 weeks and have all of the things I'd been missing...when it came down to it, I just couldn't give myself permission to stray. Another shocking revelation...and so unlike the "old" me!
For 8 weeks, I had weighed and logged everything I ate. I haven't done any weighing since then, but I do have a good handle on how much of something to have (unless it's a Malteser...). Just to bring you bang up to...
