Yay I feel important...I have a blog all of my very own :like:

It's like a brand new exercise book at school, and I must give some thought to the words I put down, don't want just any old rubbish, don't want to spoil the pristine neatness of it all, oh blog I  you.

I love the idea of a blog so thanks Moogie. I don't want to write much this time, I would like to go back over my first five weeks and I need some time to think about it.
At the moment I have decided this week to change my fast days from Monday/Thursday to Tuesday/Friday. It feels quite a big reorganisation. I am changing because my husband has Monday off and I do find it easier to fast when he is at work. So fast tomorrow.

I just wanted to comment on why I am doing this and what I have got out of it so far. After turning into a serial dieter, I was looking for a way out of diet death valley and stumbled upon the Fast Diet by accident. After devouring the Fast Diet Book I am a new woman.

The health benefits first caught my eye, after hitting a 'special' birthday it is turns out to be true that it is all down hill from here, and you start to fall apart - physically. Well that is true in my case and I can see the early signs of future poor health problems in joints etc. Being the person I am. Can't take that lying down. So perhaps it is time to do something about it. Being more active and finally embracing regular exercise is one route of attack, but reviewing what I put in my body, food wise, is another.

Weight loss is always a welcome side effect and so far it is going well. But the biggest and best surprise was the confidence boost twice a week. I feel so proud of myself for sticking to 500 cals...

My starting point: Im 22, 5'7 and 13.4 stone and unhappy. Im constantly thinking about who i look and how people see me. Ive done diets since i was 14 which usually dont work and im too impatient to wait to see the results. Im finally putting all my faith into this 5:2 diet that sounds like it could be the answer to all my problems. Im looking to get down to around 10.4 stone as that is apparently in the middle of healthy for my bmi, this could be a good reason but its up for change as it will depend on how i look and feel. this could mean i need to lose more or not as much. I think that is every thing. Now down to the fasting.
So today is offically my first fasting day and so far im feeling great! not anywhere near as hungry as i thought i would be, but i still have tomorrow morning to get through. I decided that i was going to do a 1pm-1pm fast as it works out better with my working day and it doesnt seem as long as if i did it 7am-7am! So its 8:30pm and ive just had my first meal since...

Well, as Moogie has so kindly set up this blog facility, I thought it was my duty as a moderator to check it out! Where to start? At the beginning of my 5:2 journey I suppose.

It was late October and I was standing on the side-lines watching my son playing in a soccer match when one of the other mums commented that she had been fasting regularly but it had not seemed to have improved her memory though she had lost weight.
"Hang on" I said, "back up a bit. What do you mean lost weight, improved memory?"
"Oh" said she, "did you not see the Horizon programme by Michael Mosley about fasting?"
"Er, no, tell me more."

So she ran through the general principles and I was immediately intrigued...a diet plan that might...
