Fasting today. Sooooooooo hungry! Trying to hang out til dinner, but this will be later than normal as OH has meeting and will be back late. Still no power, so we have to both eat at same time as can't reheat food easily.

Have kept busy enough today - walking the dogs, walking dad (!), hill climb walk, house cleaning - no vacuuming possible of course. Still dusting that I can do. Yuck.

Miserable weather, cold, tho is warming up later in the week. No doubt we will have power by then tho!

Ate far too much last night. Tummy showed the result!!

Shortly after posting the previous blog, we lost power, and 2 days later we are still without power and it will be at least another day before we are reconnected. Two large trees brought power lines down in two separate places not far from us. No work has yet started on removing the trees and repairing the lines because relatively few homes are affected, compared to many other areas of the city which have lost power.

We at least have gas hot water and a generator that can run the fridge. The main discomfort is a lack of heating, but we do have a log fire tonight which is lovely.

Anyway, my eating has suffered as a result!! I can blame being cold, to some extent, tho that is probably just an excuse for the extra eating in the evening. We have had home made pizzas 2 nights, as these can be cooked in the Weber. Very yum, very high calorie. (We have electric stove and oven inside.) I have also eaten out a few times, including coffee and cakes or similar. Oh well, I have enjoyed it all, although...

My fast went pretty well yesterday. Apart from a couple of gherkins, I lasted til dinner - steak and roast/steamed veg, followed by the usual frozen orange (this is such a great dessert for me, takes ages to eat and better than any water ice). I did also have one piece of choccie, some cheese and a few Brazil nuts. Happy with that as I did feel hungry. As I have mentioned, I am not trying to restrict to 500 cals on fast days, just fast as long as possible then eat sufficient food to not be hungry at bedtime.

Felt pretty hungry this morning, and did have some cheese as well as my usual brekkie. Having a coffee now but still only mid morning. May need to have lunch early...

Has been very wild and windy, with a bit of rain, but the sun is trying to peek out...

I sounded very smug last post...

The last 2 evenings I have not done so well, I think I ate because I was tired?? Apart from the choccie, the other foods I ate were nutritious, but still more than I think I needed. But not tooooo bad....

I do find it much harder in the evening to know if I am genuinely hungry. I think that because IF can make you get used to feeling hungry, sometimes it is more difficult to tell if you actually are... During the day it is generally easier to ignore hungry pangs, and disguise them by drinking and keeping busy. Evenings are trickier for me.

That being said, I am still pretty happy with how I have gone during the latest challenge. I am certainly not putting on weight.

Today is Saturday, and I am fasting for as long as I can manage. It is mid afternoon now, might be able to hang on til dinner. Might not!

Losing count of the days...

Things generally going well. A couple of nights ago I did not eat anything after dinner, felt no need. Kept busy with knitting. Had a normal days meals. The steamed veg with peanuts and cheese seemed to be very satisfying as the evening meal.

Yesterday I ate out for lunch, had really nice quinoa and kale burgers with small side salad, very filling. Had the same dinner as the night before, but this time did have some extra nuts, dried fruit, cottage cheese and small piece of choccie. Okay with this.

Today I fasted until mid afternoon, but then allowed myself to eat as per hunger. Fine with that.

I do feel like I may have lost some weight, but that is not my primary goal. If I can eat according to my hunger, with only the occasional indulgence, then that will be wonderful! I will still use fasting as an antidote to major overindulgences, when they occur, but generally don't want to do fast days as such, though will generally not eat until hungry, so have brekkie...
