Another gain, UGH!
14 Jun 2013, 06:48
I gained again this week, despite it being a good week. This time it was 1lb, so that is a 1.5lb gain over the last 2 weeks. Obviously I'm disappointed.

I'm at a bit of a loss as to how to make this work now. I'm not giving up because I like the WOE and I love hanging out on this forum, but at the same time, I only have 7lbs to go to my goal and that is really frustrating.

It's not my TOTM. I guess it could be water retention as I haven't overeaten this week.

Meh. *cries* <<not really.

Weird, innit?

I wish there was a Weightloss Guru out there who could explain this, as it seems to be happening to quite a lot of people.

Maybe try what TML is doing? I think that's what I would do. For a bit, anyway.

OR, take a week off. That worked for me when I plateaued before Easter. I went on holiday and didn't fret about eating at all (bacon butties, lots of wine, etc) though it was a very active holiday with a fair bit of hiking in the Shropshire hills (God's own country etc) to the point of aching legs.

It's really fustrating, it seems being good doesnt equal a loss, then some weeks you get a random loss when you've not been as good... I guess things happen inside the body which we can't take into account.

Feeling healthier is definately a bonus though :)

The trouble with weighing once a week is that it's just a snapshot...you have no idea what's really going on. I think either daily weighing combined with an app that does a trendline or monthly weighing is the way to go! For example, over the last week my weight has varied between 83.6 kg, up to 84.8 kg and down again to 83.2 kg. If I had taken a snapshot weighing at one of the high points I'd have been very disappointed! Here's my chart:

Oh, how I know how you feel. I'm now at 6 weeks with no weight loss and no reason why I'm not losing!!! I'm well 'scunerred' (fed up/p***ed off) as it could so easily have been another half stone off. I guess though if I hadn't been 5:2ing then it could also be half a stone on.

I'm not giving up as it's not just about losing weight and eventually the weight has to give up!

OK I've been stewing about this all morning. I am going to give myself a week off fasting, and then start afresh the week after I get back from London. I've planned our meals for the next week and they are as follows:

Tonight - homemade pizza with pesto, mozzarella and tomatoes, and salad
Sat - Pulled pork, homemade rolls and homemade coleslaw
Sun - Vegetarian mexican lasagne (made with tortillas instead of pasta)
Mon - baked potato and salad
Tues - Vegetable soup
Wed - lentil bolognaise (veggie bolognaise essentially) with shredded cabbage instead of pasta (the kids will have pasta)
Thurs - Baked potato with salad

Breakfasts are usually toast or yoghurt with coffee and lunches tend to be snacky bits.

Hopefully when I get back from London, definitely hungover and feeling a bit worse for wear, I'll have renewed vigour for this, and starting again might kick of the weightloss.

I'll still be around here saying hello and generally spouting nonsense, but I just won't be fasting.

Thanks gillymary, I use this recipe http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/tyle ... index.html

I just do the dry rub, and then use shop bought bbq sauce, its immense.

And obviously from the OP and her menu plan, she doesn't eat boring food. *drooling* over your planned meals. Do you have room for more guests?

Sure, my husband is in America next week on a business trip, so there's plenty of room ;)

Try 4:3 for a while. The benefits of the 2 days fasting is extended to 3 days. If 2 days are good... 3 days are even better!

I think I'll try 4:3 when I start it up again after next week, just to kickstart myself back into it.

Tell us how you go. 4:3 i think really keeps me focussed on my new eating pattern as the 4 day break between two of my fast days before was just too long . With 4:3 the most feast days adjacent to each other are 2.
