I knew this day was coming!
18 Jun 2013, 12:45
I reached my first goal today. I have lost my unemployment weight gain. Ya hoo! Yes I knew this would happened after the third week on 5:2 because of pounds lost and relative ease of fast days as well as the decrease in appetite. I have learned and physically felt that I was eating for pleasure not hunger. Also, I thank God that my oven broke back in the beginning of this journey so I have been unable to bake cakes! :victory:

Well done clairemarie! That's fab news :D
Is your oven fixed now? Time for a cake to celebrate!

I'm thinking of trying out a chickpea chocolate cake recipe I found online... maybe I'll do that this evening.

Moogie. I am reluctant to fix it but you are right a treat is in order. Is that using chickpea flour? Heard you can sub coconut flour as well. Also I have sub'd pumpkin puree for oil in brownies with good results.

Well done! Near eight kilos in ten weeks odd is brilliant! I'd love to be losing at that rate *jealous green thingy* you'll be hitting your target in no time :)

Hi FatDog. Thanks. On my eat days I also watch the carbs. I carry all my weight on my abdomen. I looked like I was carrying triplets! My waist went from 48in to 44 so far. I like the idea of that low glycemic index.

Congratulations :) I'll add courgette to Moogie's chickpeas for a good cake ingredient. They make lovely muffins too :)

I only started yesterday but this is real incentive to keep up the not so difficult (compared to others!!) diet. I've really enjoyed reading the books and some of the recipes are good enough for feast days lol

Well done - have a :star: really excellent start for you. Keep up the good work - if it was me I'd think twice about getting the oven fixed

chocolatechops? I am envisioning melted chocolate all over your hands and face like a little kid(lol). I have such a long way to go but first goal achieved is a great feeling. My attitude about 5 2 is that it is a lifestyle change. I am planning to eat this way forever that way I will never have to fight the battle of the bulge again!

Well done! :star: For awhile I thought my old oven had finally reached the end, a shame too because I had just cleaned it, then after several weeks I remember that it has some kind of timer selection and sure enough I had bumped it when I was cleaning, works fine now! lol :)
