@wineoclock what can I say? You must be in total shock at the moment. I am so sorry. I don't know whether you should be fasting today. I think you should be kind to yourself. Big hugs and love to you xxxx

@stephd I can tell you now...you are not alone! I am in EXACTLY the same position as you at the moment. I just eat and eat, knowing only too well that I am not hungry (stuffed in fact). This is probably why I never get over a certain weight. For me, I think it relates to my TOTM (due on Thursday...ish!) What d'you think is causing you to over-eat? We just need to be strong and try and drink water when we feel those nasty food monsters taking over. Good luck to you xx
@Ted1968 you certainly sound very organised for your first evs fast! Well done you. I look forward to hearing how it goes today...but a good cycle ride should help.
As for me, I'm fasting today as part of the DODO challenge. I think its going to be a tough day but I'm sure I'll get through...somehow! After all, tomorrow is a feast day!
Have a Marvellous Monday fast everyone ;) xxxx

Condolences to you @wineoclock that's so sad x
I'm fasting today after a week and a half of indulgence due to being on holiday. I had the most horrendous indegestion , which go's to show how eating badly effects me
I currently feel bloated so am glad to be back on track.
Good luck everyone

@Wineoclock, what a devastating blow for all who knew your friend and workmate! In your situation I would be turning to food for comfort so well done to you for deciding to fast as normal. It will take time to get over such a huge and unexpected loss but I hope that you can keep your business going, as a tribute to her.

I'm fasting today, still trying to shed my holiday gain. I've dropped 4.3 pounds since my weigh-in last Sunday, so that's the 'water weight' gone, now for the last two pounds of 'proper' weight! :frown:

Wineoclock wrote: I'm fasting today and I've got the saddest heart. Last week my friend and business partner passed away suddenly , she was only 46. I will have to face a work place full of memories of her this morning. I can't begin to imagine how her family is facing a whole home full. Im at least glad she lived life to the full.
Sorry for such a downer this morning but it helps to write it down.

Just logged on to say I was fasting today and saw this... so very sorry @Wineoclock What a shock and loss it must be. And I can't imagine trying to get back into work after that. :(

Aside from a week off right after the wedding. I have kept the fasting going, but I'd say it was kind of 1.5 days a week as I'd manage a normal fasting day but then end up having a bit of a bigger meal than planned due to my parents still visiting and the holiday break. I'm hoping to resume as close to normality this week. In plus news, last week I walked six miles twice! Once around Bolton Abbey (Easter Monday) and then a couple days later in London. Felt great, but sure did up my appetite! I've been planning to get back in the pool for some exercise this week.. hopefully i'll do it and not just procrastinate.

Warm fuzzies to everyone from chilly but sunny Durham!

Hello all :) I'm here after not being here for ages, but I'm still fasting. I find it so difficult to get on this site (and it is blocked at work!) so it's lovely to be here!

Wineoclock, I'm also really sorry to read your sad news. Thinking of you today.

Thanks everyone for being so supportive, I'm sorry I started the day on such a downer but I just needed to talk about it. Work wasn't too bad, we're only a very small business and usually worked different days of the week so I'm used to her not being there. I managed to fast all day but have definitely gone over calories tonight, I'm not worried as at least I have the benefit of a day of fasting.
I hope everyone has a great fast today.

@Wineoclock I've just logged on to this thread. Like everyone else I'm so sorry to hear your bad news. I really think it helps to talk about it. I am also impressed that you have carried on with your fast.
I'm here as usual for a Monday. Despite a night away in a hotel. with meals out and an evening in the pub I have managed to get rid of my Easter related gain so I'm well pleased. I've got to finish a book for book club tonight so that should keep me occupied till it's time to cook.

I'm sorry, @Wineoclock. Remember when you were a kid and thought people who were 46 were old? Once you start edging up on it, you realize how young that really is.

I'm in today. I'd hoped to distract myself with some yard work, but it's rainy and too wet. So I'll be drinking lots of green tea and embracing the hunger pangs I'm already feeling (10am here ATM).

Good luck all and congrats to those nearly done with their fast day. :clover:

OK - so something is going wrong with tagging, avatars and my attempt at sending Wineoclock a heart.....will have to post without embellishments then....

Wineoclock, I am so terribly sorry to hear the very sad news about your friend. Words are inadequate, but just know I am thinking of you and sending hugs. You already know how supportive this forum is, so don't hesitate to post anytime...as it really does help to share.

I'm in today for Fast #4 of the DODO challenge. So far so good....am just about to eat for the first time today, num num.

Hope it's going/gone well for everyone....xx

@nursebean thanks for your support. I don't know what causes the feast beast. I don't have the excuse of TOTM as I am post menopausal. I think it is just a mindset I get into, I want to eat because I can. Yesterday I fought the beast and won but I still gained a quarter of a lb overnight despite eating under TDEE. Water weight? perhaps but I've been hovering around the same weight for two weeks :(. I'm really hungry now and have about 300 calories left. It is only 3 p.m. here so I want to save some calories for later this evening. I've never really been this hungry on a fast day in a long while perhaps because of a medication I was on which curbed my appetite (even so I still managed to eat enough so that I couldn't lose any significant weight). I guess I should go out and get a few groceries for my son. He just had dental surgery and is surviving on ice cream and applesauce and noodles. Noodles are the only thing left in the house for him. The only way he will take the medication prescribed is if it is crushed and put in ice cream. I have to admit I scraped the last little bits of ice cream out of the box, maybe a teaspoon full.
Happy fasting to everyone, and congrats if you've managed a successful one! :clover: Another 7 hours to go till my bedtime

Oh @Wineoclock, that's rough! People have passed away at my job, but never anyone I was really close to. :(
