Please don't make extra threads in here besides the daily fasting threads, if you've got a question please post it in the relevant forum or ask in today's 'Fasting Today' thread, thank you.
Good luck all.
I'm guessing that means you're in NZ - I'm in Melbourne, AUS and am also nearly at midday now - it's at this point in the day where I think - I've got this far - another 6 hours and I can have my 500 calories!
Good on you doing 4:3 - I just could not fast on a Friday! I play tennis on Friday nights and then it's couch, wine and maybe naughty food night...
I have been back on the fasting bandwagon for the last few weeks and am enjoying the fasts, and definitely feeling better on the whole. I have moved offices this week which means no access to an on-site cafe, which in turn means no quick easy snacks, which is a good thing and hopefully means eating less on feed days.
I've been trying out 16:8 on my feed days this week which so far have proved hard - the day after a fast I am pretty hungry and knowing that I can eat, but want to last until lunch time is a struggle. I may reassess whether to continue on 16:8 - or just keep it simple at 5:2 at the moment.
I'm also doing really well at low carb - not had bread, pasta, rice or potatoes for weeks now. I am getting some carbohydrate through my green vegetables but I'm generally trying to keep them at a minimum.
I did so well at 5:2 when I did it last year, lost 6 kilos within a few months (4, I think) and so I think my expectations are quite high this time around, which makes it very frustrating when the scales aren't cooperating.
Anyway, have a good fast day all, it's a warm one in Melbourne today, but lucky me, when I'm fasting I'm so cold! So the warm weather this summer should be less of a problem!
Good luck!
Kelkelkelster, I find skipping brekkie after a fast day difficult, too. I do a modified 16:8 on non-fast days: that is, I have a soft boiled egg, but only that, outside of the window. It takes the edge off, and keeps me going until lunch time.

You've lost 0.1kg since starting your diet 69 weeks 2 days ago (your start date to last recorded weigh in). That's a mean average of 0.001kg lost per week.
Keep at it, that's 7.87kg until you reach your goal weight! If you continue at your current average rate of loss you should reach your goal in around 7871 weeks (around 25th September 2165).
You're 2kg away from your interim goal weight! If you continue at your current average rate of loss you should reach your interim goal in around 2000 weeks (around 19th March 2053).
Needless to say, I started back in the summer 2013. I am now back to that weight! I then got very, very moody, fed up and depressed (it was a bad autumn)when I couldn't walk, stand or even sit without pain, due to a conjoined nerve root problem. I still have the problem but started the regime again this summer, but didn't reset. ANYWAY, can't wait until that magiac date in 7871 weeks!
I've only done a couple of fasts since coming back from holiday three weeks ago and have lost the kg I put on, plus another half, but what I HAVE been doing is cutting out sugar. Although I wake up dreaming about chocolate sometimes, it has actually been easier to say NO to it all than have even a little bit. I do have a glass of wine once or twice a week (I know how to live). This has had a good effect on my diabetic husband, who is a cake/biscuit/jam hound. If I'm not having a biscuit, he won't bother getting the jar out. I know that some of you on the Christmas challenge (I decided not to join, due to holiday and my daughter's classy first Hen night here in Luxembourg...way too many shots...) are minimising sugar, and I would love to know how you are getting on with that. I gave up sugar for years in the the late70's/early 80's and was as skinny as anything. And in my late teens/twenties of course.
Happy Fasting.
I can only think it's the relative inactivity tho' I suspect 2-3 lbs of it is the swelling around my back and joints. (I had a recent fall that's banged up and bruised my legs and back plus I have the usual problems with my joints.)
Meh. That's maintenance for you - hyperawareness of the ebb and flow of water levels with a nagging suspicion that there may be other contributors that are not food-related.
Looking forward to tomorrow and trusting that the water weight will eventually pass.
to those who are struggling and/or have several more hours to go.

Hello @TeaAngel - good to meet you.
Well done on making it through 12 hours so far - it is odd how we need to celebrate that as a skill, isn't it?
I look forward to learning more about you and your goals in your introduction.
Good luck!
