A few years ago (when I was a bit more well off than I am now!), I had a subscription to a lovely American food magazine.
I cannot for the life of me remember what it was, but if I could find it, I might be tempted to see how much another subscription would be. I just loved it for the diversification it brought to my cooking (and chutneys!)

So, anyone from over the pond, please could you let me know the titles of any nice cookery/food mags , so I can google them and see if they're affordable for someone over here.

Thanking you in advance xxx
Wish I could help Penny, but I haven't looked at magazines for years.
There is

bon appetit
Better Homes & Gardens
Food & Wine
Cooking Light

I think Food Network also has a magazine, which might be good.

That's about all I can think of you now - but I'll keep thinking :?:
Bon appetit rings a bell! Thanks!
Bon Appetit is the most popular http://www.bonappetit.com/
My mother's favorite is Cook's Illustrated http://www.cooksillustrated.com/
Fine cooking: http://www.finecooking.com/
There's also Food Network http://www.foodnetwork.com/food-network ... index.html
Martha Stewart Living is one I used to get, along with Everyday Food. I think Everyday Food is no more. Not sure about MSL
Have a look at the magazine apps @pennyforthem it might jog your memory when you see it.

Failing that, have a look under the stairs in case you have any old ones stashed
I've been having a browse through @tracieknits links. I can get some of them online. Just drooling at one of the slaw recipes in one of them - can't remember, but saved on my tablet!

Funny you should say that @wendy darling because I did just find an old copy of Gourmet magazine and have been online for that, too!
I'm in heaven! Thank you everyone!
You just reminded me to hunt for a particlar slaw recipe. This restaurant near me makes slaw with cabbage, carrot, apple, pear and beet, and they say the dressing is yogurt based. It's soooooo good!
Ooohhh Tracie, if you find out, let us know would you please? That sounds lovely. Thanks
i may simply use the dressing from this:

with julienned apples, pears, beets and shredded carrot and cabbage (they use both green and red).

I'm not positive about the dijon mustard, but it might be nice :-)
Eating Well has been my go to site for recipes for many years, great suggestion, lovemyparrot!
Haven't done much exploring in the Foodies Corner thread yet, I look forward to coming back!
