See you tomorrow for my first day of DODOing,
Ive put about 5lb on during my Floridian experience.
nursebean wrote: Willowey @willowey Welcome to this forum...and to the Bean challenge. Jump right in why don't you! I'll add you to the list (you'll be No. 21...hoorah!)

Thank you for the welcome @nursebean  No 21 is good for me (same as my age - I wish!! )

Thank you for the advice @CandiceMarie I should have been clearer - I have been doing 5:2 for several weeks so am familiar with the concept of fasting, but have a school reunion coming up in 3 months and thought I would try DODO to see if I could shift a few extra pounds before then

I had a good DD yesterday and have found that I'm not actually as hungry today as I thought I would be - this may well change as the month progresses though!
Think I've got my groove back :victory: !
Beloved opened the Easter egg I was given ( he was allowed to) When did Thornton's chocolate become so vile? I had the dark chocolate Turkish Delight, a bite of a caramel one ( binned the rest of it) and SPAT OUT the taste of the shell as it was so nasty.
Dried apricots took awat the taste and will be a moving experience for me :victory:
Thanks,B2B has gone v smoothly @nursebean xx
Bean busy so havent noticed the day slip by
Out in the sunshine tho not well enough to walk, and found the crowds down at the river overwhelming!
Everyone cycling, flying kites, playing, walking dogs, sunbathing! Kids on half term.
Passed the time lovely.....its the key to fasting isnt it,getting absorbed in something non food related! ?
Hope everyone had a groovy nice day and a healthy feed day for all dear DODOs xx
First of all...@janeg?! Dried apricots took away the flavour of chocolate?! are you crazy?!!
Hopefully you'll pick up a bit soon Candy...when the new dose takes hold.
Willowy, I hope you take to the DODO life easily. Who knows, you may even enjoy it ;)
Welcome back Carie @carieoates and don't worry about that 5lb. It's only water and won't take long to disappear.
Night all and good luck with tomorrow's fast xxxx
Thanks to the help from admin I am now a fully merged Pilchards. Just kicking off today's fast here on Sydney. Will have tea and water only until a poached chicken wrap this evening. Busy day at work with lots of meetings this morning then I will go for a walk and look at the harbour at lunchtime to distract me from lunchtime pangs. Have a great fast day everyone when you get there!
Good luck @pilchards fasting while we in the UK sleep! Sounds like youve got a good plan in place! X
DODO #6 reporting in for day 3, fast day 2, of the challenge. Yesterday's weight in had me above my maintenance window, but 0.1kg lighter than when I left for Tokyo, so yay? Anyway, I'm sure at the end of the challenge, I'll be well back into my window...
DODO 16 reporting in. All going ok, so far this just feels like 5:2. Saturday will be the test for me I think. @Hazelnut20 you are way to hard on yourself. It's ok to take breaks and as far as I'm concerned, it's ok to eat cake. Good on you for picking yourself up and getting back to fasting- it's the try, try and try again thing. @Juliewil10 I am also in NZ so we are fasting on the same time zone. Nearly dinner time too - wahoo.
You go away for a few weeks and look what happens! All this excitement about DODO - I've worked it out: Day on/Day off. Is that right? I want to be part of this challenge. I like that it doesn't include weighing. I will try on those jeans tomorrow morning. I didn't fast on Tuesday but here I am today and I'll try ADF for a month only. It terrifies me but as you say, only a month. If I really struggle I might replace some days with 16:8 which I have never tried. I want to lose weight before winter hits and this might just be the ticket. I've had a good 3 weeks break and this is my 2nd Fastiversary so what a good way to mark it. I am going back to keeping a blog for this month as well. It helped me when I started in 2013 so it might help again. Please can I be #22. It seems to be an auspicious number.
@Sallyo lad u found this, I meant to mention to u in the fasting post and forgot. You'll find it easy, I find 4:3 far easier than 5:2. Really hard to fast after 2 or 3 days of eating, but ur body gets used to less food and u feel better. If I could make a suggestion to anyone struggling, just add 200 to 400 cals 1 day a week. If u eat lots of vegies it's a filling day, in fact I must start eating lots of veg every day...note to self. Good luck everyone, hope to see you all skinny and not frightened of ADF at months end.
Happy fastiversary @sallyo! And ive started not a blog but a journal to try to spur me on..
Good luck with the challenge x!
Back from a weeks holiday where I DODO'd starting on the 1st. 2.5lbs in one week gone. Thought I should report so it spurs on other DODO'ers. I'm about a pound away from being back into the healthy BMI range :victory:
@Sallyo! So pleased to see you here joining in for just the month, and marking your Fastiversary with DODO. Now "in-the-third-year group"! CONGRATULATIONS! :like:
I have to adjust the days I fast to fit in with OH and school next week but as long as I manage three fast days a week I think that will do the trick. (E.G. Have to do back to back fast today and tomorrow.) Easter weekend was lovely, but I over-ate/drank wine too, so am on track again. Have some tighter jeans at the ready.....
I think your plan sounds great and the odd 16:8 helps.
You didn't mention your wrist and the plaster cast. I hope it's feeling better and that you're making good progress. :clover:
Hi all I'm in for my first DODO day. I will be weighing as I'm hoping to use this challenge to get to goal.
