Oooh @Lizbean how do you do it? I just know I wouldn't be able to close the kitchen door after lunch! That IS impressive I must say.
@Pilchards I love the sound of your poached chicken wraps...do you have the recipe?
Anyway, hope everyone is still very much in the DODO challenge zone!
Haven't heard from you for a while @Minsmum Are you ok?
Happy fasting everyone xx
I'm joining you for this week's fasts...Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Usually Friday is a half day fast for me, but I'll be on my own for dinner that day so I'll make it a full fast day and stick to 500 cal. I'm looking forward to it.

Isn't she in Spain?
Anyway I'm home from work and had 10 prawns and lettuce with a teaspoon of Mayo.
Two chicken thighs and ratatouille at 5.30 as I'm hungry and have a class at 6.30.
Oh of course, thanks Carie...silly Bean!
Good luck with your class tonight. Wouldn't it be more pleasurable to eat afterwards?
I'm really quite feeble now so am looking forward to my paella in a short while ;)
I'm thinking its 4 DODO fasts this week (Mon, Wed, Fri, Sun ) - or is Sunday the start of a new fasting week then? I've never been sure!!

Anyways and whatever, tomorrow will be the grand weigh-in...to see how things are going after 4 DODO fasts. I know the scales are a fickle mistress (or should I say master) but considering just about everything feels tight right now, I'm not sure if I can gauge progress by jeans alone at this early stage. TOTM water excess will no doubt mess the reading up a bit, but that should mean a bumper progress report for next week.....ever the optimist!

This every other day lark seems to mean that reward is always just around the corner - not in a big way, but just in the slackening off sense. I think I like it......
Oh my little nutty friend @Hazlenut20 you are REALLY a getting into the DODO swing aren't you!
As for Sunday, it's definitely the first day of the week (at least us nurses used Sunday as our first day! ;)
Good luck for the weigh-in...but should you wait until AFTER the TOTM? :?:
I was good today and had nothing but black chai until a lovely salad tonight. Lettuce, tomatoes, red onion, red and yellow peppers, a few dried cranberries, a few chopped, roasted, salted almonds, a little light mayo mixed with yoghurt and curry powder, topped with a shredded chicken leg that was left over from yesterday. It took me ages to munch through. Just had a cup of vanilla chai with coconut milk and I might have another at bed time. It's ages since I've done a proper fast and it feels good, so thank you Beany  :victory:
A bust for me sadly. A 17 hour work day and survival mode kicked in. Sorry everyone. Hope to be back to normal service on Weds.
Blimey! I lost my message when I pressed submit ... why does that happen, can this be sorted, I know it's on the to do list.

I could not survive till 9.30pm without some calories, I have previously tried arriving at the meeting venue and eating my dinner, but I was wolfing it down and not enjoying it, that's no fun. A lunch that satisfies you is just good as a dinner that satisfies you? For the first 6-8 months last year I had a very strict 52 regime and it worked wonders (that's when I lost the weight),ie eat at a certain time everyday and PLAN the menu and shopping for the week, for me that was how I succeeded that part of my journey. Look at @Sallyo I'd never imagine she would enter the DODO tent, but she has and that is good as she is exploring. Perhaps being strict early days and then finding flexibility through gaining confidence might be significant in our journey?

Spring/summer is here in the UK. My second summer - It will be interesting, I think I may lunch more, let's see.
Anyone else lunching? @Rawkaren is this still your preference?

I'm so glad survival mode kicked in for you. It happens as we know. I generally feel I'm on top, and then it bites me on the BUM big time
Day by day I say. :clover:
Yes, I would never have imagined being in this tent! I managed ok yesterday, my 3rd DODO fast. We had to go to Launceston to see the lung specialist. I had a 23calorie packet of soup before I left home at 1pm and then in Launceston, I wanted to walk about and see the shops while OH had a lung function test at 4pm. I was totally ravenous. I decided to look in a supermarket and see if I could find some low calorie snack type product which would sustain me. Everything I found was at least 200 calories and I didn't want to waste 200 calories on some kind of shit like that. So I ended up buying a banana at a fruit shop on my way to meet OH for the appointment with the specialist. After that we drove home and the OH says: Do you want to have a counter teas? Absolutely! How can you even ask! So we called into the Empire Hotel in Deloraine and I had lamb shanks - small, as in one shank - with corn, mashed potato and beans. I think I probably kept it under 500. Well to be honest, I did have a glass of red and some chocolate egg when I got home as well. So maybe it was a little over. I actually think it is better to eat up at lunch time. I found Saturday a lot better when I did that. It avoids that awful afternoon starvation stretch where I could eat a horse and chase the rider. @Rawkaren, be kind, a 17 hour work day is unreasonable! Back on the pony, clippety clop, as @CandiceMarie would say
A cautionary tale.....
Woke up this morning full of the joys of spring. 4 days fasting and lots of exercise in the last week - really looking forward to my weigh-in this morning. Went for a walk, came home, stripped off and jumped on the scales - WHAT THE ? jumped off again this can't be true. On again, off again, hold the towel rail -NO LOSS THIS WEEK! AAAARRRRRGGGHHH. Stompy stompy, grumpy, grumpy, snap at husband, bad mood rising. - what is the point of all this. Start getting dressed...... knickers, bra, singlet, black trousers - hang on a mo - that zip went up really easily, I haven't worn these trousers since before Easter and they fit soooo much better. There is a point to all this and it DOES work! Just need to remember that weight is just one measure of the success of this WOL and I know (from past experience) that I will get the results if I persist.
Phew, good to get this off my chest, thanks for listening. Having a non-fast day today - yoghurt with raspberries and chia seeds, poached chicken wrap for lunch, rocket, fig, prosciutto and fetta salad for dinner - well within my TDEE. :clover: :like:
Yep, dear leader, I am taking this 'ere DODO business seriously! I stand corrected on the Sunday front, not ever having bean a nurse and all that...& now I understand!

Many thanks to Pilchards for the timely reminder about looser trousers etc. I know deep down that they are the best measure of how we are doing...but I also get a bit of a thrill to see the numbers go down on the fickle machine. Whether that will happen on Tues morning when I weigh in, remains to be seen....but I will be pretty jolly choked if it doesn't - given that I'm 4 fasts in! In view of the possibility of excess water though, I will reserve judgement until the following Tuesday.....and then maybe the Tuesday after that.....and then the Tuesday after that! Yes, that's right.....whatever the blooming scales say, I will be in until the end, ha ha, because I really rather like how this feels and am motivated by Bean's support and encouragement - bless her!

Unable to tag anything or add any smiley faces due to technical difficulties right now.....and I don't just mean my usual lack of technological abilities........!
DODO 16 reporting in. Yesterday was a bit of a fail - stupid work morning tea - we are obsessed with them and this time I gave in to temptation. Another one scheduled for Friday which also happens to be another fast day, so must do better.
I think some of my fast days are going to be more like half-fasts. A work dinner and a birthday party are standing in the way. I can definitely be reasonable at the work dinner, but the birthday party may be harder. At least it's on a school night, so I shouldn't go overboard with alcohol...
