Well I just wanted to post an update on my week of fasting, after falling off the wagon last week with a massive binge.
I am pleased to report that I've been pretty good this week and stuck within my TDEE (not yesterday as a work lunch and went over quite a bit).
I've lost 2lbs in the past week and have another fast on Sunday, so fingers crossed that I'll continue to loose steadily and reach my interim goal weight, which is 1.5 lbs away

Have a good weekend everyone
Wow @Minsmum you've got ADF down to a fine art...well done! Sadly, I've bean pretty unwell this past week so haven't bean able to fast. I hope to pick it up again on Monday but just doing 3day fasts followed by 2 day. I just don't have enough energy for ADF at the mo...
...however, I'm cheering you all in from the sidelines and hope you all gain great results. Who knows...some of you may follow ?Minsmum and take it up full time
Good luck everyone xx
Aww Beanie@Nursebean hope you are on the mend x fasting ADF styleee and feeling poop do not go well together .
Think I'm going to keep up with DODOing until I've had enough of it ( not quite there yet) then who knows I might BAT or I might DODO myself away. I know I need more than 5:2. Well I think I do I don't really know I am in a way apprehensive about going back to 5:2. Haha it's the other way round for most people!
I'm on catch up having just read the weeks' thread ...... well done to all DODO experimenters  I like this challenge because not only is it an experiment and I'm learning a lot from you all, it is SHORT. I have signed up for all the challenges since joining but I like this the best so far as the immediate goal is imminent.
@nursebean so sorry to hear you have been unwell this week, I hope you feel better soon. How's it going today bean?
So my first ever DODO week has been good one. I'm on my 4th DODO today and I'm 2lbs down! 1lb to go to get back to maintenance goal. So if I get there DODO will be my preferred strategy if in future I wander out of my maintenance range. Whether going back to 52 is the answer for maintaining time will tell.
@Carieoates loving your 'remember' list! 'Plan' - my planning has paid off this week, that little bit of focused time meant I was creative and the dishes delicious. It's such a relief to be back to be 'mindfully' planning ahead. This pm is my planning time for the week ahead and I'm looking forward to it.
#22 checking in
My life has spun out of control with the OH in hospital: chronic lung infections and now a heart issue has been diagnosed, masked by the lung infections. We had a hard time waiting for a bed while he got sicker and sicker. And I still can't drive. The hospital he has to go to is 100km away. It's all very complicated. I am staying with a friend in Launceston but I don't know her really well. She isn't an old friend. She doesn't eat my kind of food. I hate not being in control of the kitchen. So far I have had 2 fasts up there and I managed all right. Today I crashed and I'm not going to fast tomorrow, Sunday. Monday I'll be back on it. I don't believe I've lost any weight.
Except for today, I think I have adjusted to DODO now and I will continue to the end of the month, which is only the end of next week, and then return to 5:2. Thank God I can drive again next week. It will be wonderful.
Sorry to hear you have been unwell @nursebean. We'll both get back on the pony on Monday: clippety Clop.
Hello everyone. I'm back and ready for my return to DODO on Monday .
Sorry you've been poorly @nursebean, nice that everyone is being so supportive and honest about their experiences. What a great gang we are.
@Sallyo, sorry to hear about your husband. I hope he gets well soon! Odaijini, as they say in Japan.

@Nursebean, I hope you feel better soon, too.

As for ADF, I'm plugging along. Thursday wasn't great but I didn't blow it too badly. Yesterday went well; I was well under 500 calories. It looks like a sunny day so I'm looking forward to my bike ride later. Have a great day everyone!!
Back from my cruise and beach trip and popped in to check on all of you. Sorry to hear of those who are feeling poorly. Sure hope you are feeling right as rain in no time.

I had a great time and came home with 5 lbs more than I left with! I'm actually surprised that it's not more. The food on the ship was fabulous. Now to get the sugar monkey off my back and get back on plan. I'm going to try to be a DODO and see how it goes. I look forward to getting back on track with all of you!
Hi everyone and thank you SO much for your lovely wishes. My back is getting there and I feel a bit better today. So now I'm back to my normal ME as opposed to the extreme ME which occurs from time to time. Hey ho!
@Sallyo your poor husband. Hope he recovers soon. He must feel pretty awful and you must be pretty stressed. Hugs to you. Glad you hear you're ready for tomorrow's fast though. In fact, you all sound ready for tomorrow's fast. I'm so pleased that you've all taken to it so well and to think that some of you may DODO from time to time. I think its great!
Well done everyone xxxx
Well done everyone..... My fasts have been going so good and apart from Friday had 2 chocolate bars been pretty good on my feed days..... But guess what???? Not 1 gram down!!!!!! It's crazy. Well I will just keep on dodoing and hope eventually it will start coming off. I even stuck to my fast on Saturday was surprised it was so easy.
Nursebean - yes, wishing everyone a good week ahead :clover:
Reporting one week of 4 DODO's = 2lb loss. Day no 5 tomorrow. I feel fine but may call that a day as I don't want to push it too hard. I'd prefer to come back to DODO occasionally and for a short period. I did reduce my FD cals to 350 (as on my tracker) from 500.
Great experiment :like: it's worked for me.
Well done @Lizbean. I wish I'd lost weight. I haven't. Anyway here we go for another week and it's Monday, Wednesday Friday. I'm glad I did it because it makes me feel like 5:2 will be a push over! It hasn't been made easier for me, being away from home. I'm going to finish at the end of this week.
I will see this helpful challenge through and my weight has been wiggling up and down, but nicely trending minutely downwards. I have gone over allowance on one of the three fasts. Clothes do seem looser, not at hips but round midriff.
I know that 5:2 with some days no breakfast will be my continuing way and not to be obsessive. Ever watchful.
I expect it will be quiet around here today.
Feed day for me, but as usual don't feel as hungry as this time yesterday, have a luxury salad today for lunch avocado, prawns and crumbled blue cheese on a big pile of lettuce. Yum
Well, fellow DODOers, it has all come apart for me.
I am so hacked off. I've been DODOing and also missing lunch on eat days in an effort to shift it and get me moving again. And I started back in the gym. I started on April 1 st and decided to do the weighing yesterday as the scales get packed tomorrow for the big move home.
I have lost! A whole 700g. Not impressed, so I checked again this mornign and I'm heavier than when I started.
So disappointed, and , despite knowing full well that stress (moving)/exercise/over doing the fasting can have an effect, I really think a huge evaluation is required.
Methinks the elusive goal is unobtainable and maintenance is on the cards.
I realistically haven't lost for about a year, so time to chuck in the towel.
The DODO chalenge has been interesting in that fasting works for me fine 4:3. DODO makes me feel deprived and 'on a diet'.
Back to 4:3 for janeg. 2 good under 500 cals and 1where I either have a very short window and eat a 'propoer meal' or slip in a wee something which takes the cal count up. Or 3 at 500cals. It's up to me!
Hope everyone else has had a good experience from DODOing.
