Hey Hazel it's like a Fitbit but it doesn't replace your watch. I have s few lovely watches so don't want to wear a Fitbit. This is like a bracelet I can wear on my other wrist and does all the same things plus it works via Bluetooth so I don't have to use a connector to sync with my phone. I believe that's about right lol. It cost £49 on Amazon. They are more expensive for the black ones and it's a bit hit and miss as to what they have at that price in what colour and size. I'm happy to have found an orange one which will go with my iPhone and new Michael Kors bag and purse (sadly a copy but very good ones lol). They retail around £150+

Finally in to report my official 0.5 kg loss and buffer for the holiday season (weight maintenance is the aim for the challenge). 1.5 kg down from the upper limit of my range. So more or less ready for the summer. A summer that according to Dutch weather still has to begin though (today: rain and maximum of 13.8 Celsius  )

 it's quite likely I may do the same
I've had an accidental fast day today. Had a hospital app about my hip at 6pm and then went to my sisters after. I'd only had toast for lunch so when I got in at 9.15pm I figured it was too late to cook so had a salad with some crab sticks ... Yum.

I am trying to do all the right things - 4:3 fasting and, more importantly for me these days, keeping non-fast days under control - so I don't think it's a problem that I'm not weighing. I think another week of fasts and I'll be brave enough to step on the scales again.

68.2. :-( and that's after back to back fasts :-(
I should just never step foot in the US, clearly :-(
Hopefully it comes off quickly. Usually getting back down to 65 is doable, it's any lower that I really struggle with. Ho hum. My weekend visitors for the next two weekends might have to put up with me fasting and/or skipping meals.

I am doing my summer challenge weekly reporting today, after my Tuesday fast.
52.2 kg.
My visitors got a glitch in their travels and are only coming today. But we're going away from home with them on Friday, and I cannot report then. That is why reporting now. Not quite sure what to do tomorrow, my maintenance fast day. Because the people come late tonight and tomorrow is their first day here. I think I might skip the fast then. There is always next week Tuesday and Thursday...

Hi Ladies,

Well done on all the weight loss which resulted from good habits and the desire to lose weight being bigger than the desire to eat more than we need.

To all those that have family things, holidays etc please enjoy whatever you eat or drink with the knowledge that you can get right back to fasting afterwards.

I have one fast left (Friday) and will pop in with my final weight tally but wanted to A) post to keep the threads moving and people involved and B) because I'm excited at my weight loss so far. I know that most will think it's all water I have lost but 10 days of desserts, ice creams, beer and wine with some pasta, potatoes and white rice doesn't add up to water it adds up to fat lol. And I had 3 meals a day (I only eat two small meals now) and 3 courses at dinner. I got back early hours of Monday morning from my holiday and fasted that day. It felt great! I was sick of eating and drinking, of growing fatter and feeling bloated. I have been very happy to fast again and feel hungry this week. I lost 3lbs on my first fast. Tuesday was a low cal day because I was busy and out but not eating, I lost 1lb. I can only believe that reducing my calories so massively after 10 days of eating WAY more than I have in months has really got my body using up that fat! And isn't that what fasting is supposed to do? Anyway, I'm happy that the 8lb I gained since I was at my lowest of 217lbs will be gone by Saturday's weigh in and then I can get on with reaching my next goal of 4 stone weight loss.

As a women with a great deal to lose, I started at 19 stone 2 lbs -268lbs. I am now 15. 9 - 219lbs I find that as much as I am elated to reach each of my 7lb targets that I very quickly feel as fat as I did when I was at 268lbs! This spurs me on to lose the next 7lbs because I just don't want to be this fat. Plus it's of great benifit to my back and my hip. I'm miles away from being diabetic (grandmother, dad and sister all diabetic and I was well on the way). I'm Apple shaped so it's literally deadly having all this weight around my middke crushing all my vital organs.

Yesterday I went to see the orthopaedic surgeon (not great news, I'm at that bone on bone stage and I'm only 48!!). I saw the x-Rays taken 2 months ago, I could see the outline and shape of all my fat too lol. At the time I just felt embarressed but he actually noticed that I had lost a great deal of weight since they were taken! So although my hip is still a mess, weight loss reduces the stress on it which helps with pain.

So that's my chapter for today  I'm looking forward to reading more of yours. X

@jayegirl sorry to hear about your hip..
You mentioned bone on bone..Does it mean you have prob with bone density ,and may need a hip replacement at some stage?
Your amazing and wonderful weight loss must help a great deal however ( hopefully) with decreasing the pain? You have done incredibly well both pre and post yr hol! High five! X

Hi Candice and thanks

I have arthritis due to an injury 15 years ago now. I rely on my right leg and favour it way more than my left so it's general wear and tear . Now I rely on my previously injured leg lol so I don't have great balance. I'm a bit young for it really lol. Up until 18mths ago I was doing great but it's gone right down hill. Going to have an injection soon which I hope will help and had one in my knee (2 now). When you start to limp through pain you stop using the full range and motion in your joints. This causes rubbing, the fliud thst lubricates them evaporates and so instead of a nice cushioning you get bone wearing on bone. Surgery is the next option but at 48 it's something I and my surgeon think I should put off for as long as possible. I think it would be even more painful if I was still as heavy as I was though. My mobility has increased, and back pain reduced but I hoped I could get back to where I was 18mths ago before the arthritis. My physio and surgeon says that I'm as good as I'm going to get. Still it's better than it was, I could hardly walk 10-15 steps before so weight loss, stretched and light exercises have all helped. Exercise does help some liquid to return around the joints but not enough.

I'm turning into an old woman lol. Went about my very dry eyes today, the Dr said.... It's a combination of 'age', (thanks.... Talk about making you feel old lol) hormones, arthritis! and the medications I take. This growing old lark just has to stop, right now!
