Hello, new to fasting.
01 Sep 2014, 08:34
I've dabbled but never got past two weeks. I spent some months floating between calorie counting and fasting which was, of course, a complete waste of time. I plan to just fast from now on without worrying too much about the results until four weeks have passed. That being said, I've lost almost 3 pounds this week although I know that'll mainly be water. So this is week two and I am raring to go! :D

I'm 44, live in Glasgow, Scotland and I'm usually pretty active. I've had an injury though, nothing serious but it has slowed me down a bit plus the summer holidays were in full flow. I'm a yoga teacher and an artist so I go from long periods of sedentary sitting to jumping around teaching yoga. I teach every day. I usually walk a lot but that got a bit lost during this summer for one reason and another. So now that the kids are back at school, it's time to up my usual activity and fasting fits into my lifestyle.

I'm glad I found this forum, it's been a mine of information and I've spent some time reading through the benefits and downfalls of 5:2. So interesting!

Hello and welcome from me.
You've done well whilst "dabbling"
Yes it's great to get time to ourselves, love our families but we need time to sort ourselves out too.
Good luck and join the fasting today thread, great for that afternoon slump when we need encouragement, and suggestions for how to cope with that empty tum.
Put your details into the progress tracker and off you go,
Calorie counting is ok, as we need to know how many we are taking in on both fast days and feast days. Once you've got a grip on how many are in your foods you can relax back into it knowing you're not going over your TDEE and fast day allowance.

Have fun and come back to let us know how you're getting on. :clover:
