Introduce Yourself!

Our Frequently Asked Questions topic will answer many of your fasting & weight loss questions!

If you're new and have a question or need some advice, please give us as much information as you can about your situation in order for us to be able to help you as best we can. For example, it's helpful to know your BMI/weight, how much you want to lose, any medical conditions which might affect your weight and (if you've started fasting already) how you do your fasts in terms of splitting up your calories, what you eat etc. Thanks!

Hello everyone

Hello. I just found this site via the FB 5:2 page. I joined for the tracker but the forums are great. I have just completed my first week and lost 3lb and 2" from my waist and from my tummy. I have weirdly enjoyed the hunger on FD so here's to many more months of fat and inch loss xx

Quick, everyone look around their seats and see if we can help her find that 3 pound 2...

Welcome Evileda! (There's got to be a story behind that avatar !)

Seeing hunger as interesting rather than fearful implies a healthful, positive attitude. Don't be shy about asking questions or voicing concerns if/when they arise. It's likely that someone here here has already run into likely solutions and would like to share them.

Hi there @evileda and welcome to Fast Day!

Wow! You've had a fantastic start to 5:2 haven't you. I'm so glad you enjoy the feeling of hunger. That's my favourite bit I must say. In fact, I prefer my fast days to my feast days. I feel so much more in control on fast days! I think 3 pounds is an incredible start and I hope that's giving you a boost for your second week. When are you fasting next?!

By the way, we used to be a VERY busy forum and I think more people are returning lately, so stick with us!

Welcome @evileda.

Always good to see a second post from a newbie! Do tell us more about yourself - your goals, your eating challenges, any thing you are happy to share. And do read through the LEARN pages and any discussion threads of interest. Lots of useful info, even if there isn't a lot of daily discussion.

Best wishes and good luck! :clover:

Hello again!

I do try and visit here every day now so you won't be totally on your own evil one, I mean @Evileda!!

Well after my feast day yesterday I have now gained 2 pounds! This seems to happen after nearly all my feast days - so I should probably have a look at what I'm eating on those days - my carbs must be too high. Yesterday, I definitely had too much chocolate and did have a scoop if ice-cream with Angel Delight (butterscotch flavour of course) so I can't really complain.

Tomorrow I go to Slimming World for weigh-in (I help out there and have great friendships there so can't give it up!!) so that certainly helps keep me on my toes. Roll on today's fast!!
