I ended up not going to Starbucks yesterday. I stayed a little later at work and then ran some errands. So when I got home it was kind of late, so I just sort of had some snacks instead! I did get a nice walk in during the day! My allergies are still lousy though, so I've been really tired by the time I get home. Scale going down. I am starting to think about how I will keep it up over the weekend. It's a 3 day weekend here in the U.S. for Memorial day!

My calories were a little high yesterday and my eating window a little long, because I went to my nephew's baseball game yesterday, which was much longer than I expected! So, I was really hungry when I stopped on the way home to get something to eat. I also had a snack size bag of M&Ms in my boss's office. It's so annoying that she has it out all the time! :curse: But still my carbs and sugar were good yesterday and the scale was still down today! I'm pretty excited about it and it is motivating me to try to do well this weekend!
You are doing good, keep it up!

Thanks @Roscoe! I'm very happy that the scale continues to go down. I'm not sure what's making the difference this time. I think maybe it's the walking, even though they say exercise doesn't really help you lose weight! But whatever it is, I'll take it. My goal this weekend is to at least stick to my eating window (i.e. don't eat breakfast!) and no sugary stuff. I'm going for a hike today with my friend. Unfortunately it's going to be pretty hot and humid. It'll be an easy 3 mile or so hike though. We are going out for dinner afterwards not sure where yet.

Have a great day!!

Well, I ended up eating breakfast yesterday, but didn't eat lunch. It was VERY hot here yesterday, but my friend and I still did our hike. We went out for dinner yesterday, but I had a reasonable dinner and no dessert! I'm still feeling awful from my allergies. It's kind of a cloudy/rainy day today. I'm going to go for a walk though and later to the movies and to dinner with my sister-in-law. I'm planning to order some sort of salad for dinner, but we'll see!

Well, the scale is up from yesterday, but still down 2 lbs. for the week. Yesterday my calories were a little high, although in line for the weekend, but my sodium was probably pretty high too. So, I'm still happy with the loss. It is a holiday here, but I don't have any plans, just stuff to do, so I should be ok!

My goal for this week is to drink more water and so as part of that goal I'm going to try to give up diet soda for the whole week! I don't drink a lot, one a day at the most, but even that seems like too much, so I'm going to see if I can give it up and then maybe after this week I'll limit myself to just one or two on weekends or something.

I have 4 weeks left of the school year and am really hoping to get down to 160 by then.

Well, yesterday was not a very good day. My allergies were so bad I could hardly do anything and being home all day I ended up overeating a bit and having a diet soda! I did at least get my walk in. It really is annoying how easy it is to gain weight! But I'm back on track today and hoping to have a really good week. We did just get a call though that there is no power at our school and school might be closed. This would be bad as there is too much to get done this close to the end of the year!!!
Allergies are an inflammatory response, so you are retaining fluids. So weight can be affected.
Thanks for the thought, but my allergies have been acting up for a few weeks now, so I don't think that's it. I'm pretty sure it's the extra food I ate!
OK, then! So eat less bread which can also create a stuffy head overnight!

And if that doesn't work, I'll be forced to pull out the "it's a heavy gravity day" card to rationalize away your difficulties. I'd have better options if I could find my magic-8 ball to verify their applicability.

Yesterday was a very long, not so great day and so my eating/drinking was not so great either and the scale reflects that. Hopefully today will be better!

Still struggling a bit, scale keeps going up, but I'm not giving up!
Well, definitely didn't have a good week. It culminated with a dinner party last night with too much food and delicious dessert! Scale is at 168.2.

I'm up this morning and headed to our middle school debate. I am not planning to eat until after that. I might be going out to lunch with principal (boss) after that, but then I will get my walk in today. The only other plans involving food are dinner tomorrow night. Hopefully I can reverse things a bit before my weekly WI on Monday.

The next few weeks are going to be busy and stressful, but I have to stay committed. One thing I need to pledge again is to not eat the candy in my bosses office. Maybe I need to have a few more healthy snacks on hand in case I am tempted to.

I have also applied for a new job within my school district and am waiting to hear about an interview. So I'm excited and nervous about that! Hopefully I'll be so nervous I won't want to eat!
Good luck - fingers crossed - that you are invited for an interview! :clover: Best wishes for the interview (assuming...!).

I think it is terrible that your principal keeps candy in his/her office. Is this normal in the US?
Thanks @Sassy1! I think that they have to interview me because it's in district, but it's taking a while for me to hear from them. I don't know for sure if it's the right job for me yet, but hopefully I'll hear something soon and can find out!

Re: the candy, I wouldn't say it's normal, but it's not unusual. Americans are very big on giving food for all sorts of reasons and bringing "bad" food to work...donuts, cookies, etc. But my principal definitely does it more than most. She also brings the candy to our staff meetings and put some on each table, so while you are sitting there, sort of bored, in the meeting, you are just staring at the candy. Most kinds don't bother me too much, but a few are very tempting....m&ms and Reese's! A couple of years ago, I made a rule for myself that I just wouldn't eat any of the candy and that has definitely helped, but obviously I've caved a few times. Most people like that she has candy and is always giving us food, etc, so who am I to complain really. Maybe if I get the new job, it won't be an issue!

I did a little better yesterday. The scale is down a little. I didn't make the best choice at lunch, but I didn't eat too much later either. I did not however make it for my walk. I will definitely be doing that this morning. Unfortunately (sort of) I have lunch plans now too, in addition to my dinner plans. I considered saying no, but I haven't seen this friend in a while and wanted to catch up. But, I will try to make good choices!
