General 5:2 and Fasting Chat

I saw an advert on TV just now. For anyone interested the Daily Mail is promoting the Fast Diet in its glossy mag and will be including recipes for men and women. I will be making sure I grab my copy in the morning. :like:

Not even this would tempt me to buy the Daily Wail.

Did you also see that lighter life are doing an ad for their new lighter fast products. Seems the indsutry wants their cut on fasting.
It was from reading the Daily Mail weekend supplement that I found my way to fasting................... :cool:

There will be some recipes during the week (apparently they're in the magazine but some FD recipes will be meted out).
My mum gets the Daily Mail (I've tried to dissuade her for years but she likes the quizzes :wink: ) anyway, its very useful having access to some more recipe ideas. They seem to divide them into Breakfasts and lunches (which isn't ideal for me because I no longer eat breakfast...but I guess they can be adapted). They're also having an issue on recommended ready meals, which sounds right up my alley (so to speak).
Anyway, I'd recommend buying it this week, just for the handy recipe ideas ('His' and 'Hers'). Can't go wrong...can you?!

There are plenty of 5.2 free recipe books popping onto Amazon etc, only downloaded one last week.

Having said that I'm getting better at adapting regular recipes and just substituting out the carbs, these are great for those starting out, bored of eating the same old thing (some manage simply by eatimg the same meal every fast day), or looking to plan out their food and not having to weigh and look up cal contents.
Is it a buy every day type thing?
Yes, you know the drill. Each day has something more exciting to offer (apparently). It goes on all week

There are some typos in that meal collection. E.g., the parma ham with strawberries and melon is not, sadly, 28kcals all in as the parma ham is typically 235-300 calories per 100g, and a 14.5g slice of premium parma is approx 34 kcals so the 4x slices they mention would be minimum approx. 136 calories (still good) plus the fruit.

Randomly, when looking at different parma ham values - I saw this collection of 100 calorie snacks/meals from Tesco that might be useful?

I get Olive magazine each month and they now have some great 5:2 recipes :lol:
