For example, it's helpful to know your BMI/weight, how much you want to lose, any medical conditions which might affect your weight and (if you've started fasting already) how you do your fasts in terms of splitting up your calories, what you eat etc. Thanks!

Just getting started

Hi Everyone I started yesterday on the 5:2 diet. As most of you will already know it was a very rough day and I just managed it. But this morning I'm surprised: I'm not ravenous, just ready for a good, healthy breakfast. My Fast Days will normally be (flexible) Monday and Thursday. I'll be having Breakfast and Dinner, aiming to consume around 500 calories. I'm 63 and a) need to lose weight & improve my BMI and b) want to be much healthier. Love to chat with others who have already started the journey or who also started yesterday! :victory:

p.s. lucky you finding yourself not ravenously hungry after a fast. This seems common here. I don't exactly feel ravenous, but sort of empty, so I always eat a small breakfast (a soft boiled egg).

Hi suejen,congrats on yr first fast day! it does get easier i've found,some fastdays go totally smoothly and pass quickly, tho not all of them! X

Hi sujen, congratulations on your first fast and welcome to the forum. There is a daily fasting thread we all sign up to give and receive support. I too fast Mon/Thurs, works for me :smile: :smile:
