First week!

Hi everyone :smile:

I've just started the 5:2 diet and am on my first week. I've fasted 2 days so far (500 cals - well, 450 or thereabouts) and I'm actually finding it really good. I've tried so many other ways of dieting, including daily calorie counting/restriction, and I just can't stick to it and have ballooned to my heaviest ever, in the obese category and have been very worried about my health. This week has been mentally so good - I've felt positive, that I *can* do this, and I don't have that constant pressure/feeling of failure that I have with regular calorie counting.

I'm really excited about this and happy to find somewhere to learn from others' experiences & support each other!

Hi Cosmo, Welcome, I am new myself, only been doing this for two weeks but lost 4.5lb so pretty pleased with that. I think that this is a good way of living, and because its only two days you don't feel deprived. Like you I also struggle maintaining a diet 7 days per week, I get fed up, feel like I am missing out, so this is really good. I am also finding it pretty easy, never thought I would be able to stick to the fast days, I normally have a green juice for breakfast and lunch, and then have a low calorie meal in the evening. I also drink lots of water, and lemon and ginger tea I am finding helps me.

Welcome!! It's so exciting to have more people starting this journey - and also, now I'm not the newbie on the site anymore!!!

What I love most about 5:2 (and all the different versions of fasting) is that it become a way of life and not a DIET. You adjust it to fit your life and still reap the benefits.

Hey @cosmos! Glad you're here and welcome! I've also only been here for a month and I can tell you the kilos/pounds are just dropping off! I like this style of eating and I think, if I'm not wrong, you will too. Good Luck! :clover: May the force be with you :victory:
