Introduce myself

Hi there, fellow dieters, and my support group! 65 year old man here, with a bit of a paunch. I have done the 5:2 intermittent diet twice before, both times with complete success...at reaching my desired weight. But then I'd go off it for a year and gain all that weight back. This time I am determined to both lose and maintain. Suggestions? Is it possible to maintain by fasting once a week instead of twice? Or raising the daily caloric intake on two fasting days to 1,000? I have almost reached my desired weight, perhaps in another two weeks, three maximum, I will be there! I find this diet easy to use, and terribly effective! Love to hear back from someone! Thanks, and best of health to all. [incompatible emoji removed]

Hi and welcome!

I think there are quite a few people here who maintain by fasting less. Fasting once per week seems to work for many, as well as going to 16:8 most days. -- we have a lot of threads on maintenance. Here is the part of the forum dedicated to that topic: weight-maintenance-f18/

Glad to hear it's working so well for you. Best of luck on reach your goal soon
