Hello,

I just found this site today and signed up. I'm a 40-year-old overweight female. I Work full-time outside the home at a sedentary desk job. I'm also a part-time student working toward my BA in Business. I don't last on diets and usually, end up spending money for supplements and programs that don't really fit into my life. I'm not athletic in the least. The only type of exercise I somewhat enjoy is walking. Anyway, My doc called back with my labs and said the BP and Cholesterol were high. So, here I am, A 40yr old wife and mom to Four. Things won't get better on there own.
I've tried to fast with my church during the seasons of "corporate fasting" usually in January which I wasn't so good at. It was a 12 hr (6 am to 6 pm) water only. I would only last until the 5th. So I didn't think I could do a 16/8 fast. That was until I realized that 8 of those 16 hrs can include sleeping time. So I started thinking about how I may be able to incorporate a fast into my life. I decided to commit to doing a 16/8 fast Sunday evening to Friday afternoons with weekend off. I'm now on day four :victory: What I really love about doing it this way is that there is no special foods, programs or supplements to buy. No separate meals to cook at dinnertime. I can eat whatever my family eats. We are also trying to strengthen our finances and like the idea of not worrying about breakfast or being tempted to stop at a coffee shop for overpriced food. I want to make this a lifestyle but need a support system in place. One thing I must say about these past few days I've felt victorious waiting until my time is up. I look forward to interacting with all of you! :)

Hello! I happy I found this group too. I don't do FB so this forum works great for me :)

A little about me. I have been living in different countries throughout Europe over from the past two years. Over the past 4 years due to very stressful events where I have to leave my home country I have put on some weight. I am usually very fit and healthy.
I am going back to that. I am gluten-free and cut out sugar. In the past, I have done Interment fasting without evening knowing it. I find this way of eating makes me way more conscious about what I eat.
I find the 16:8 works the best for me. Although sometimes if I do a 24 hrs shift I fast for 22 to 23 hours and then only eat for a 4-hour window. I find what helps me to I take psyllium fibre supplements to help my blood sugar as I am prone to low blood pressure as well it helps me feel fuller and I also take Raw organic apple cider vinegar.

I started this 16:8 last week and have noticed I have lost some weight already!
