Could this trend just be that each of the age bands has sequentially logged data for increasing time periods? So the younger age bands show the usual rapid weight loss that you get at the start of a diet(WOL) [except for me!]...
Examples:
18-25"3 of whom have lost a total of 10.96lbs over a combined total of 3 weeks and 4 days.
This equates to an average of 3.07lbs or median of 2.99lbs lost per member per week..."
As discussed this appears to be over a period of
1+ week and is a statistically low number (3 members).
26-35"60 forum members matching your selection are using the tracker, 25 of whom have lost a total of 157.54lbs over a combined total of 73 weeks and 4 days.
This equates to a mean average of 2.15lbs or median average of 1.99lbs lost per member per week."
So this is 73/60 =
1.21 weeks36-45"167 forum members matching your selection are using the tracker, 98 of whom have lost a total of 633.03lbs over a combined total of 380 weeks and 1 days.
This equates to a mean average of 1.71lbs or median average of 1.16lbs lost per member per week. "
So this is 380/167 =
2.27 weeks46-60"102 of whom have lost a total of 744.24lbs over a combined total of 490 weeks and 3 days.
This equates to an average of 1.53lbs or median of 1.23lbs lost per member per week..."
So this is 490/102 =
4.8 weeks each on average
61-74"25 forum members matching your selection are using the tracker, 13 of whom have lost a total of 122.51lbs over a combined total of 122 weeks and 1 days.
This equates to a mean average of 1lbs or median average of 0.77lbs lost per member per week. "
So this is 122/25 =
4.88 weeks on average
It would be interesting to compare the first week of logged data for each age band. Perhaps the older age bands which correspond with the 4 or more weeks on the WOL are more accurate? After a month on the 5:2 your at about 1 lb a week (which is what it says in the book)...
There again, maybe I'm still missing something?
