Rather than spending days perfecting the look & settings on this forum I thought we may as well get it going and see what people want to suggest!

I'll do what I can to make additions, sort out settings, get a team together to maintain this place etc.

Meanwhile, enjoy!

This is a great addition, thanks for setting it up. How about people suggesting their ways of distracting themselves when they are feeling a bit peckish on a fast day?

Feel free to start a topic about distractions, the more topics we have the more info we have and the more useful we'll be to fasters new and old!

From posts on the FB page, what do you think to setting up separate sections for those doing it for health vs weight loss reasons. I'm doing it for both, so don't mind reading either, but some for some one is more relevant than the other?

I also think that it might be useful to have a fasting area where talk of feast days is strictly forbidden so that people who need extra motivation when they are fasting can go without fear of foody talk :)

I did wonder about having either an ongoing 'Fasting today?' topic and a 'Feeding today?' topic where people can chat and get support on those types of days, but perhaps a dedicated forum for each would be more useful if this place gets more busy!

No there isn't but the forum should look fine in mobile browsers on smartphones from the last few years :)

I can look at adding a mobile skin which could be selected via your user profile?

Under avatars on the left of each persons post would it be possible to add a 'start bmi' and a 'current bmi' as we're all different shapes and sizes!

If theres not enough room maybe take out the date joined the forum?

I can add that in, although what I'm hoping to do when time allows (might take a day off work to do it) is to code a weight/BMI tracking system to add on to the forums which will allow us to gather some meaningful data and display up to date info on your info panel & user profile :)

Maybe there could be a few separate parts of the forum for people to chat with others in their weight catagory ie <"lbs / "lbs-"lbs / >"lbs
Does that make sense?? I was on a Dukan diet forum (dukaners.com) a few years ago and this was really good

Thanks for the suggestion - there have been discussions before about more forums like that, but it does seem rather like segregating folks and we're all in this boat together :) At the moment although we're growing in numbers we're not a hugely active forum compared with some so at this stage I'm not sure it's necessary. As things get busier perhaps we can reconsider!

Another suggestion for the progress tracker stats page is that instead of showing the pie charts for the before and current BMI bands it might be better to have a column chart like the Weekly Average Weight Loss one that showed the starting and current BMI's in single increments, i.e. ...,>=20 <21,>=21 <22,etc.

Reason being is that the current stats only show an improvement for current over start when someone passes a BMI boundary. I have lost quite a lot but still within the overweight band and expect to be there for 7 or 8 more weeks till I can get to normal and it would be good if that sort of improvement within a band could be displayed. Would be interesting to then filter it by length of time doing 5:2 to hopefully see the peak move across.
