Aparently I can eat my cake and have it... Consumption was considerable on birthday and celebrating one year on maintance. Still no more than 62.5 kg
So far one fast in September and none yet in October.

Congratulations to you too! :D Your approach to this eating regime seems so sensible and you are reaping the reward. :) You are a great model for us all. Thanks!

Today marks the start of an interesting field experiment. Have a fast today as I am going for surgery this afternoon. Fast needed for that, not for weight purposes (at the lower end of the range already). After surgery (hernia) there will be something like 4 to 6 weeks without real exercise (cycling to work, speed-skating and the occasional 4K run/jog). Let's see what that does to the weight/fasting regime. :geek:

All the best for the surgery and recovery; weight wise and health wise. :)

I hope your surgery goes well and that you don't get too many withdrawal symptoms from missing your exercise regime! I'm guessing that walking is still allowed? As you say, it will be interesting to see how/if it makes any difference to your maintenance weight. Keep us informed!

As per the others, best wishes for a straightforward surgery and recovery plus subsequent rehabilitation. :clover:

You'll be fine PJk. I had 6 weeks off at Xmas for surgery. Just skipped breakfast every day. Put on a few pounds. But nothing I could really blame the lack of exercise on. Mentally however I missed it . Hope all goes well and that you come back soon to tell us all about it,

Time for a short update. Two weeks after surgery I'm doing fine. No exercise yet, but short term result seems to be losing some weight rather than gaining. Probably losing muscle faster than gaining fat. So far one fast in October and non in November.

In my experience when you can stand up from a seated position without doing it in sloooow motion you can get back to some exercise. A stationary bike is a great place to start. Protective but enough to get the lungs and legs working hard again.

Oops, already one month since the last update... Weight is back to steady 62.5 kg, which is perfect. No fasting since October 31. Cycling to work every now and then, skating will start again next week. Apparently weight is 'solid as a rock', at least for six weeks of limited activity.

Well, that's another year gone, 'fasting' succesfully. Only 13.5 fasts for the entire year, a bit more than one each month  So, next to eating more or less sensibly on most days, a few fasts can do the trick (for me) to take care of some snacks and some cake.
