No weight loss

I am really upset. I have been on the 2 : 5 program for six weeks now. That first two weeks I lost a few pounds but since then I have done nothing but gain. I have fasted for 2 days as usual 500 c this week and been to Zumba classes four times this week. Yes, I have been drinking water. I have not lost any inches either.

I am completely confused as I have always been lead to believe that eat less calories do more exercise = lose weight - but obviously not. Can anyone suggest what I may be doing wrong?

How frustrating! Are you counting calories? Perhaps you are taking in more than you realize? I have found logging every single thing I eat has been an eye opener. If you are taking in more than your daily requirements on a regular basis on your non-fast days, that could be the problem.

Is the exercise new? Perhaps you are building muscle right now?

Good luck in your journey.

Hi Marie,Its disheartening isnt it when youve tried so hard and not seen wished for results!
If its any consolation, i lost nothing for five weeks - but then i started to lose regularly.
Your system's dealing with a lot of changes these last few weeks...fasting two days a week is quite alien to us people who are fortunate enough to have had three square meals a day for all our lives!
You could be in an adjustment period so try to be patient and keep going! Bear in mind too that hopefully you' ll be doing your longterm health some good by choosing to fast twice a week -and also remember that this way of eating is like no other type of food restriction/ diet you may haveheard of,or have done before.
Intermittent fasting can work in mysterious and surprising ways that arent as straightforward as less cals and more movement = weight loss.
One other thing...Maybe check out with yr doctor for any underlying probs such as an underactive thyroid, which untreated would interfere with weight loss xx
Hope you see some satisfying results soon!

Just keep at it and like the others said, make sure you aren't eating too much on your non-fast days. It sounds like you are doing great, and it will probably all of a sudden kick in!!

Also, if you're at a healthy BMI already, weight loss might be slower.
