Hi Julie, I can't access the med advice, I seem to be locked out of everything apart from the forum. I'm sure @carorees and fellows will be along soon. X

Julie, I did a search - there appears to be many small threads of conversations but nothing that seems substantially robust to call. @carorees will help. x

I found this one - I haven't read it all so don't know if it answers your question.
Has your doctor increased your medication?

I am hoping my doctor will finally acknowledge that I have a thyroid problem, not 'the menopause, depression, stress, what do you expect you're a carer, post operation, you're overweight, or its all in your mind' which is what I have had for 20 years. I'm not medicated, yet, and if the doctor doesn't do it I will self medicate.

Might be time for a new doctor, sweetie.......

There are a number of doctors I avoid at my surgery.....based on past experiences. I like the women doctors because at least they know what you are talking about...& they definitely have more empathy than any of the males.

You deserve to have what's going on taken seriously & not put down to a load of other issues. If your doc can't/won't do that for some reason, perhaps a new person's perspective would be helpful?

Sending hugs xx

I have moved house on average every 3 years and every single time I have had this, its the same result. So far this has been a good doctor. But most UK doctors are bound to the TSH tests. They actually think that they aren't allowed to medicate unless the blood tests show an out of range level.

Hi Julie
What a pain in the ..... You sound pretty convinced it is most likely to be thyroid. So get down there and convince your GP, stage a sit in to get what you want and need :clover:
