They did a live interview with Dr Michael Mosley this morning on Channel 7's sunrise, arguably the most popular of the morning TV news programs.

Looks like the book Fast Exercise has been launched downunder and will be in the stores.

Did anyone in Oz see it?

postscrpt... the video is now up

doesnt MM look just so fit and healthy and well.. the power of 5:2 with exercise
!

Some important points from video.

MM says the effective way to exercise is the benefit of quick, high intensity workouts for shrinking your waistline

The body has little power plants,. thousands in every cell called Mitochondria

Exercise produces more mitochontrdia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mitochondrion

Mitochondria suck up the fat and the glucose in your blood convert it into a form of energy that your body can use.

The more mitochondria you have the more fat you consume the more powerful you are.. the secret of H.I.T. high intensity training
---

there are 2 types of exercise he recommends

1, to improve aerobic fitness.. heart and lungs.. eg running or cycling

shortest interval to make a difference is 40 seconds

2 lots of 20 seconds done with a 2 minute gap 3 times a week.

2. Strength exercises... build strength and fitness

bursts of 30 seconds with a 10 second break

Benefits of intense training

In terms of lost off fat... doing exercise intensely leads to production of Catecholamine http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Catecholamine

targets fat in gut.

suppresses appetite for 24 to 28 hours

i think i got all that right ... let me know if i have made an error

===

i am so getting into H.I. T. this year.. with my 5 kgs off. im ready to burn some fat !

No, can't face those turkeys first thing in the morning, ruins my day!! The book is available on Kindle and I have bought it, it is a synopsis of the tv programme he presented, with exercise programs added so I am currently reading it.

haha of the 3 programs i can only handle Sunrise.. probably cause i have a mild infatuation or something with Kochy

I preferred it when Mel was on with him.

The crew on channel 2 have a really screechy voice.. especially the guy

and as for the new channel 10 one.. its like a reincarnation of The Project (which i dont really like) with a bunch of bitchy women and one or two men.. Something contrived about it.

Can you get pills for that?!!!!
I'm a radio girl in the morning, something soothing as background noise. If I watch tv and I'm on a deadline I can get sucked in and forget the time!

Hi @gillymary, it depends if you are interested in the science, which I am. If not, you can just get the basics from the Daily Fail article!

There is quite a lot of free info out there on the interweb, but I only paid about $6 and both of us will read it so it isn't that expensive.
