I'm new to this so forgive me if this is a stupid question, but is IF (as in the article above)different to 5:2 or are they both IF? Could one do the 5:2 and on normal days eat in an 8 hour frame as the good doctor says? Thanks for your reply!

Both 5:2 and 16:8 are different forms of IF. Some people here combine the two. I do just 16:8 most of the time but throw in a longer fast on restricted calories (i.e., like 5:2) if I've been over-indulgent (like just recently for example :wink: ). HTH
