I visited my sis today and as always she gave me tonnes of chocolate eggs to share around the family when i return. I had some smarty filled ones (too sweet yuk) but brought home some lovely Marzipan ones.

Was thinking there must be 100 types out there

lets start a list

1. Plain Milk Chocolate
2. Dark Milk chocolate
3. Lindt (a class on its own)
4. horror compound chocolate ones *avoid
5 Marzipan eggs
6. Mini eggs

any more...

I thought this was going to be a "how many types of easter bunnies/bilbies" (ie creatures that bring chocolate) and thought maybe we weren't the only family that have an entire farmyard visit. But apparently we are!
For the record we have the easter bunny (chocolate eggs), easter bilby (marshmallow eggs), easter cow (chocolate milk), giant easter cuckoo (need to make a huge nest if you want this one to visit, and it lays a huge chocolate egg in it), easter aliens (green eggs), easter bee (chocolate honey).

I gave my staff Saeter Bilbies as I am an enviro and therefore morally opposed to rabbits of any sort

Though back to the OP, my favourite of all the easter eggs, but only available in South Africa :( not Australia
-chocolate covered marshmallow eggs (flat, sold in strips of 4)
-white candy eggs chocolate coated inside, looking just like real eggs sold in a 6 pack carton

What are bilbies??

We're in Sweden at the moment so the kids are getting cardboard eggs filled with sweets and little egg shaped chocs. My youngest is only 2 so she's getting raisins and a couple of easter biscuits I'm making later.

one of my strong childhood memories and im from an era of no iphones, ipads or i anything and not much special treats like all kids have today in excess

it was this big Easter chicken which i put up on my dressing table for ages and ages before i dared open it. For me i felt so so lucky. Only a foot wide but it seem so giant.

Hehe, my kids are 15 and soon 18 and still want these eggs. This year I made it easy and bought ready filled ones and some scrape lottery tickets as well. When John unpacked my grocery bag and saw the eggs and the tickets he went "I have seen nooooothing". His friend have got their eggs during the week, but we keep with tradition and they will have them tomorrow on Easter Eve. Wonder if they still want to go hunt for them in the garden

Bilbies???? I thought you said bibles and had a very big  moment.

What about just real eggs? You know, hard boiled and dyed or decorated? That was one of my favorite parts of Easter when I was young. I really want to learn to do the Eastern Orthodox kind. They're so pretty.

How about peeps? I think they're absolutely disgusting, but evidently they're still really popular in the US.

We also always had lots of jelly beans at Easter. I guess because they look kind of like tiny eggs?

I never liked the chocolate bunnies. I didn't like eating a bunny. I was a weird kid.
