Fiona seem to have a kind pure and beautiful soul... You see, the girl in the picture in my last post and in my avatar is named Fiona. She was the sweetest, kindest most mischievous girl ever. She saved my life and looked after my dad when he had his first round of cancer. Me, I was in a dark place and, well, I did something stupid and was in a dark hole for months after that. She came sleeping with me, her body against mine as if she wanted to give me strenhgt, She passed away in my arms in may 2004 and I still miss her every day. I wish I had her ashes. The thing is, Volcan was my parents dog, not mine really. I didn't have a strong bond with him. But I just can't throw his ashes away. I think I will put them on my dad's grave, it's the simplest solution.

That sounds like the perfect place for Volcan, @Manderley. It would be comforting to think of him with your father.

I'm taking a couple of days away from the program. Pepper, my beloved, almost 16 year old kitty, has cancer. Her brother Woody and I will be trying to cheer her up.

@ravingkiko how are you and Pepper and Woody?
The little chap in my avatar has spent a night at the vets..had a blocked bladder :(
Apparently very common specially in boy cats..but it can kill if the problem isnt spotted within three days.
home now with special food and meds..and staggering round like a drunk as his sedation hasnt worn off yet!
Vet described him as very feisty!
Luckily he didnt need an op xx

I can barely see to type through my tears. Yesterday my 12 year old kitty Gandalf died after a relatively short illness... only a couple of weeks, only the last few days clearly terminal (and we aren't even certain what was wrong). Didn't have to put him down, he passed peacefully, I am certain of his "survival" in spirit... So why can't I stop crying???

Hugs and love to you @ferretgal, their shorter lives give us much joy but such sadness when concluded.
Shortest Day today in the northern hemisphere, so best to get out in whatever light you have, take a walk and mark the changing season

Dear @ferretgal

Sending hugs too. Azureblue put it so well. The loss of a pet is such a sad time. Hopefully your tears will help you mourn and then eventually be able to move on, but with lots of happy memories. Xxx
