Thank you, Skykitty :) That goal is the second one I set, and I hope to make another lower one soon! Never thought I'd get this far, to be honest, so I'm pleased as punch, but slower seems to be my style.

Well I have lost again this morning and I am pleased. Now 4lb below the target set by my GP, and only 1lb from my new goal. Maybe I can set another one soon?!

Hoorah! I've met my second goal! Can't remember when I was last this weight. Put on some lovely clothes I've not been able to wear for years, and I think I look ok!

Now, I will change my goal to a lower one of 7lb down, but not until I've enjoyed looking at the tracker showing me meeting my line! (And how exciting that when I lose another pound, I will be in the next stone bracket down!)

:)

Congratulations, Doodle. It's always great to reach a goal and a very good idea to set yourself mini goals along the way. I hope your doctor is suitably impressed when you next see him! Well done. Here is a :star: for you!

...and I forgot to say, I have my blood test booked in for Monday morning. This is for cholesterol and the last test I had was just before I began 5:2. Nothing else has changed in my lifestyle or meds so it will be a true result of whether 5:2 has made a positive difference. I hope so!

Caroline - thanks for your advice when I asked you about this one. I will eat normally on Sunday and see what happens. :)

I posted this yesterday in a thread all of its own! But, I am posting it again here to keep all my progress in one place :) Thank you to everyone for your lovely support.

I am SO pleased! Just got the blood test results back from my GP.

6 months ago, at my NHS health check, my cholesterol levels were flagged as needing to be watched. "Be careful with your diet" said the nurse. The ONLY change since then has been 5:2.

Here are my results:

Total cholesterol in January 6.1
Total cholesterol now 4.8
(GP said it should be below 5.2)

HDL in January 1.1
HDL now 1.2
(GP said it should be 1.2 or above)

Total cholesterol divided by HDL in January 5.5
Total cholesterol divided by HDL now 4.0
(GP said it should be less than 4.5)

I am over the moon I am looking forward to seeing the nurse for my next check as I now weigh 16lb less than the last time I saw her as well

Just wanted to mark the moment. Tomorrow will be our 23rd wedding anniversary and I currently weigh 8lb less than on our wedding day. :) I also weigh a lot less than my husband, and also less than my 19 year old son. I think this is the first time I have ever been able to say that (and neither of them is at all fat).

We are going out to a rather lovely restaurant for dinner tomorrow and I am certainly going to enjoy myself :)

Having just got back from a wonderful family holiday to Windermere (cooked breakfasts, Kendal mint cake, good restaurants for dinners and some walking), Scotland (shortbread, Dundee cake, scones with Scottish honey, Scottish tablet and some walking) and Co Durham (where my best friend fed us well!), I have gained weight. However, I will not amend my progress chart until my official weigh-in day, as I feel I might be able to lose a bit of it before then! I have only gained 2lb since the day we left, so that's a bit of a miracle in my book :)

Really happy to be fasting today, although as it is my middle daughter's birthday, I might just have slightly more than 500 tonight...

Good to have you back Doodle and that's sounds like a great holiday!
You've started me thinking about tablet again...
Hope you have a lovely time for middle daughter's birthday and the fasting goes well.
