Happy Thanksgiving to all in the US. I hope it is a festive day full of delightful food and company. I saw a map on the TV news here of the number of air flights across the States today and it was huge! Hope no one got stuck in airport delays.

Here in Melbourne it was just a normal Thursday, and for me it was a fast day. I have not been doing many fasts over the last 6 months or so, but now trying to get back into rhythm and did 2 fast days last week and 2 this week. Not sure I am ready yet for Bean’s 42 hr fast

If you had an extra serve of dessert today don’t stress. There’s always a fast day to set you right.
Cheers
Merry

Had our turkey dinner on our last-minute Rhine cruise, leaving the kids home to fend for themselves. Desserts on the trip were, of course, wonderful but I not-so quickly discovered that the European cheese plate dessert option with its faint hint of random sweet in a date, a grape or a tiny bit of jam, was consistently, mouth-fully delightful.

I skipped nearly all of the evening wine tastings though. While I very much appreciated the expertice and skill of the presenters - they, being ever into the nuance of this and that - quite wasted on me with my "water please" request. Just for fun, I did manage to raise the waiter's eyebrow a time or two when I poured an even amount of white wine into the red glass to try a "pink" mashup. On another evening, I asked for a Sweet and Low packet because the dry wine she'd suggested seemed to "need something". Nearly priceless, that look.

End result? Sensory overload and +1 kg, which, a fast day or four will correct.
