Just checking in. I haven't been around much - watching/listening to Wimbledon for the last 2 weeks. It was a great tournament this year. Anyway, I still get in at least 10,000 steps a day, though aiming for 12,000. Walking the dog helps loads, I do a 2+ mile walk each evening once the temps go down a bit. We stop halfway for water, then walk on home. I hope we're able to tonight, severe weather predicted. We'll try!

Take care all, especially @Tracieknits!

Unusually for me, I went for a morning walk, I'm normally an evening walker, and it was beautiful down by the river, with the sun dappling through the trees, a real glad-to-be-alive sort of walk. And now it's clouded over and dull. It feels rather nice to already have clocked up 9000 steps and today's active minutes, and it's still only 11am, perhaps I need to try it again!

Annoyingly I keep forgetting to wear my fitbit ! And yesterday, I thought I'd put it in the washing machine.... Luckily I found it in the laundry basket before the next load went in ! Does anyone know how long the zip stores the info for ? We will be on holiday soon, with no wifi ... The kids will be mortified !

Annurca, I love morning walks, specially in not-winter, nice and early, as the day wakes up.

Mrstee, we recently had 10 days away from wifi on holiday. My Flex synced all the steps when I got home (thought they were low, it being a snorkelling/swimming/supping sort of holiday) and the kids survived without wifi :)

I got out of the habit of wearing my fitbit but have done so for the last couple of days and managed my 10k steps - mostly through cleaning, clearing and de-cluttering my house

I've started doing a lot of cycling now, so my steps will go down. Did 40kms in fairly blistering heat this afternoon, was so proud of my kids that they managed it fairly easily.

That's when a Shine would be nice - measures cycling as well as steps (and swimming too I think?) 40kms is a decent cycle - what sort of age range are your kidlets?

Wow Franglaise, that was good. I find it much harder to exercise in the heat, and will probably struggle on holiday, but it doesn't matter, does it ? I'll just swim instead !

My daughter is 13 so easy for her, my son 7 with little legs and smaller wheels on the bike so it was a bit more of a test for him! But they are both sporty and very fit. They enjoy excercise as much as I do, thank goodness, although neither of them are into running....yet!

Hi, fitbitters. I just caught up on July, after spending fifteen minutes tracking down the thread. Searching for "fitbit July" didn't work. Maybe it's caps-sensitive? Well, anyway, I also hadn't looked at the leaderboard in several weeks, and it seems that lots of peoples' steps have gone WAY up. I'm currently in a disappointing 20th place. For a while I had been in the top ten. Guess this is an inspiration to run more! I'm up to week 7 of the C25K. So my next run is 25 minutes. Is this even possible? I've never run for 25 minutes straight in my life, but if I can do 22 (wasn't easy) I can do 25....

Hi all

Just spotted Im in the top ten, was just wondering where @TBrewerton has got to. As many of you know I ran my first 5k race this weekend. And am hoping to join the park run gang.
This weekend we are away on our jokes so I'm expecting to plummet down that leaderboard, unless i can squeeze in an early morning run before everyone emerges,

Hi all. I'm actually wearing the dang thing, but the thyroid has me feeling so weak that I just don't do much. But my levels are coming down and my doctor thinks I should be better in another month.

I did go for a walk yesterday and didn't do too terribly, so I'm going to start doing more every day again.

Hi all,
I've been around number 2 or 3 recently but I hurt my knee quite badly this morning so today is lost unfortunately. It's a fast day for me though so it still feels like I'm going in the right direction. Better luck in August!
