What a relief! I have tried to do HIT but I hated it and now only achieve it as a by-product of fell walking.

More is happening than was reported. Too bad they didn't also investigate changes in the motor cortex. An example: pianists and violinists have increases in size and connectivity in the areas specific to their hands and fingers. Seems that these rats might have had similar changes for running, climbing as well as spacial memory.

It's a case of what you use, improves - in both sensitity (neurogenesis) and control (muscle memory and neural pathway improvement).

This year I've had a sore knee, despite a range of stretching exercises for my hip and good shoes, so HIIT is my preference. I use heavier weights than I used to but have lost some fitness.
