Wholemeal rice

Hello, Does wholemeal rice get the same bad rap as white rice. Will it make you hungrier and give an insulin spike?
I just bought 5 kg for a bargain.

Is it really carby? :smile:

I believe it has a lot lower GI as does basmati rice for some reason. We use basmati a lot but I do like brown rice a lot, it seems to be a lot more filling.

I'm just guessing but I would think the increased fiber content would slow the glucose uptake, creating less of an insulin spike than polished rice. And the bonus is that it tastes better (IMO--Japan doesn't seem convinced though ;-) )
