My Intermittent Fasting Journey
My progress on Intermittent Fasting will be posted here with updates on my weight being posted daily, and with updates on my waist size and body fat content being posted on a weekly basis on a Monday. My weigh-in day was a Monday but I will now be weighing in every day in order to keep everything on track, and I now fast on a Monday on most weeks (although that will often change depending upon my circumstances at that time). More information about my weight loss background and my goals for the future on intermittent fasting can be found on my first forum posting which can be seen by clicking here.
Overeating With 16:8

Those who support a 16:8 eating routine claim that it is impossible (or at least very difficult) with overeat within an 8 hour eating window. However, what I am about to describe might well shatter that belief in my case, anyway. Yesterday started off fine, but I have been struggling with extreme bouts of hunger and tiredness over the last couple of days.
Yesterday, that hunger just grew bigger and bigger, making it more and more of a struggle to even hold out until the point in time when I opened my eating window for yesterday at 12 noon. Yesterday was of course, day 88 of this WOE and my 63rd feeding day under this regime.
My intention was to remain low carb and I had hoped that this might quell the hunger a bit. I even downed a whole pint of water to see if that would help, but all to no avail. Because I had intended to go low carb yesterday, I started off that way by eating a smoked sausage with some salad, and a pork pie.
There is quite a bit of protein in there, and I was hoping that this might fill me up a bit, but that just didn't happen and ended up eating a large trifle after that, thus throwing my low carb plan out of the window for another day. After that, I then had a large bag of roasted peanuts and finally had some chicken curry and rice for my evening meal.
I then finished up by eating a couple of pears, but then went on to drink two bottles of wine, all within that 8 hour window. That means that if anyone who thinks that it is impossible to overeat within an 8 hour window might want to think again after reading this, and the scales punished me as usual for that when I weighed myself this morning as my weight had soared all the up from yesterday's value of 71.9kg to 74kg when I first weighed myself. Soon afterwards though, I went to the toilet and with that, my weight came down by 0.2kg to give the reading which I have recorded for today.
Nevertheless, that is still an increase of 1.9kg from yesterday, is the sort of increase that 16:8 was meant to prevent from ever happening. I have been feeling like taking a complete break over the weekend to relieve the stress levels a bit and with that, I was going to have some breakfast this morning for the first time in quite a while. However, not only do I not feel like eating just now, but I am actually still feeling a bit full up after yesterday's over-indulgences. That is at least, one area where 16:8 has taken a firm grip on things in my life, and that at least means that I won't have to worry so much about being hungry this morning.
We all take different precautions to minimise our appetites but at the end of the day, we can never beat nature and if nature insists that I have to eat, that is what I will end up doing. This story is quite a good example of that.
