Just wanted to say that I'm not a fan of nuts, but I this week I discovered that I like almonds. Don't think I could eat as many as you though.

My Intermittent Fasting Journey
My progress on Intermittent Fasting will be posted here with updates on my weight being posted daily, and with updates on my waist size and body fat content being posted on a weekly basis on a Monday. My weigh-in day was a Monday but I will now be weighing in every day in order to keep everything on track, and I now fast on a Monday on most weeks (although that will often change depending upon my circumstances at that time). More information about my weight loss background and my goals for the future on intermittent fasting can be found on my first forum posting which can be seen by clicking here.

Nice upbeat post John.

If those nuts had been some form of carbs, I would probably have eaten a lot more than that (and gained a lot of weight in the process). However, I did find myself struggling to finish those nuts in the end and so, that shows the power of reducing the carb content of what you continue to eat even if you've already started what would otherwise be a big binge.

However, I then met a friend for lunch and ate a meal which consisted of a chicken sandwich with some chips and some salad. That was therefore a meal which had quite a high carb content and with that, I felt as though I wanted to binge for the rest of the day. Had I stuck with my old ways, that would have resulted in me eating a lot of high sugar content snacks, and an evening meal with a high carb content. That in turn would no doubt have led to a fairly big weight gain due to water retention.
At that point though, I ate a 200g bag of almonds which appeared to show my intentions to binge at that point in time. However, almonds are fairly low in carb content but have a fairly high fat and protein content. With that, I no longer felt as hungry and for my evening meal, I ended up taking the much healthier option of a tin of smoked kippers with some salad.
When I weighed myself this morning, I was then rewarded by the fact that instead of the weight gain which I would have got (along with those feelings of bloatedness) which I would have got if I had continued to binge on carbs, my weight actually stayed the same as what it was yesterday despite the fact the bag of almonds which I ate yesterday contained over 1,200 calories on their own (which also demonstrates the fact that it is not necessarily the number of calories which I eat, which will have the biggest effect on my weight).
The effect of this is that my weight is still within my maintenance range at 72.3kg (which is 11 stone 5 pounds) and as long as I don't gain any weight during the next 24 hours, that means that I will then be able to continue with the 6:1 routine which I went back into this week. In fact, my weight just now is exactly the same as what it was on Monday even to the nearest 0.1kg and for me, that is perfect weight maintenance (for the time being at least).
