Congratulations, Carlene. It is tough, being on a plateau. But what options are open to us? If we stop doing fasts, we'll put all that lost weight back on. So just keeping it off is a triumph. We just have to hope and pray that our bodies will adjust to this new set point and eventually we will start to lose again. You have lost quite a significant amount of weight in a year and that's something to celebrate. Well done!

First Year Done
by Carleneruns on 02 Jul 2014, 18:50
I started last year at 227.2. Today I was at 199.6. This is a total loss of 27.6 pounds. The lowest weight I've seen is 196.2. But my weight keeps drifting back up to 199-200 between fast days.
Initially I was losing a pound a week and my trend was overall downward. After Christmas things changed and I began to struggle with an epic plateau. This stall has been tough. I'd really like to be making solid progress again. Particularly since I don't think I'm doing anything terribly different than I was when I first started. However, for now, I appear to be stuck.
I will continue working at getting unstuck. And be happy that my weight is a good piece lower than it was last year. Hopefully with continued diligence I can lose another 30 or so pounds this year. I am committed to sticking this out and looking forward to losing all the pounds I need to lose, and even better, keeping them gone. As such, I am trying to embrace the process, even this frustrating plateau. It's a tough sell, but I'm trying. I refuse to give up and backslide again.
