Thanks for the roast chicken idea, Juliana. I adore roast chicken so will definitely try that. One question though - 20 minutes seems like a long time on full pressure and I'm wondering whether we have different types of cookers. How long would you cook lentils or vegetables on full pressure? That'll give me some idea of how long I should cook the chicken.

this is the book btw. if yu can pick it up either through amazon or a book seller or my fave online book store http://www.abebooks.com/ or
http://www.abebooks.com/books/ANZ/\ its worth every cent

re lentils.. i would do them for 6 minutes if you meant the red ones but most of the cookbooks have a guide or theres comprehensive guildes on the net

Just a warning, never add flour for thickening until you get it off pressure. It will burn at the bottom almost instantly.

@Fitfunk,
If you have a halogen or ceramic hob, look for one that is suitable. I was thinking of buying another one recently but found that it wasn't suitable for my ceramic hob.

I used one many years ago but there was an explosion and the valve shot across the kitchen like a bullet, I was a bit nervous after that. Hopefully they are safer to use now.
