I would vote for the Hairy Dieters minestrone (http://recipes.sparkpeople.com/recipe-d ... pe=2203328) without the olive oil.

Or a spicy carrot soup - onion, garlic, chilli, ginger + carrots and veg stock I don't know the exact calories, but you can probably work it out quite easily.

I know lots of people go for miso soups, but they're a bit wimpy for me!!

I've not tried this soup yet, but it sounds okay. The recipe serves 2 at 180 calories a portion:
1/2 litre chicken stock
1/2 tbsp red Thai curry paste
1/2 tbsp Thai fish sauce
1 tsp sugar/sweetener
Juice + zest 1 lime
50g mushrooms (sliced)
1/2 bunch spring onions, chopped, including the green
100g chicken, shredded
Tip the stock into a saucepan, then stir in the curry paste, fish sauce, sugar, lime juice and most of the zest. Bring to the boil, then add the mushrooms and whites of the spring onion. Cover, then simmer for 2 mins.
Stir in the chicken and most of the spring onion greens to gently heat through, then serve ladled into bowls and scattered with the remaining lime zest. Serve with extra lime juice, sugar and fish sauce on the side so everyone can adjust their own bowlfuls.

I suppose it depends on what you call "low calorie" - under 100 cals? under 200 cals?

Sorry to double post, but on another Forum post there was a link to

roasted red pepper & tomato soup (67 cals)
http://www.goodhousekeeping.co.uk/food/ ... ck=main_sr

pepper & lentil soup (108 cals)
http://www.goodhousekeeping.co.uk/food/ ... ck=main_sr

These might also fit your enquiry...There are other soups on the site, but they're slightly higher in calories.

I love cougette and laughing cow cheese soup - its really tasty and a big bowl is only about 50cals, as per person its:

1 courgette/zuccini
1/2 triangle light laughing cow cheese
1 stock cube (any flavour) made up
1/2 onion
garlic clove

Chop courgette & onion and put in pan on low heat to sweat until tender, crush in garlic, stir until fragrant and add stock. Simmer for a few minutes then blend until smooth. Add the cheese and stir until melted.

It doesn't sound like it would have much taste but it really is good! :)

I have had a courgette and onion soup in France. It was delicious. Granted it also had cream in but I shall look forward to trying the one with laughing cow light. Sounds a winner to me. Many thanks for all of the ideas.

I have just joined the forum and have been doing the diet for two and a half weeks now. Things seem to be going well. I love the fact that you can eat what you want within reason the other days. I already follow a low fat but treats here and there diet. The weight was coming off very slowly for a lot of effort. This seems to be doing the trick. I have also started exercising from nothing to 45 mins - 1.5 hours a week for the last two weeks. I am about 8 stone overweight so a lot to lose. Also have high blood pressure controlled by tablets which, when I lose weight I hope to reduce if not come off with full cooperation from the doctor of course.

I do Mondays and Thursdays. It works well for me. I will start to keep stats to upload now.

Sites like this give a lot if encouragement. Thank you

Ginette
