Hi

Has anyone got any yummy dinner party dessert receipes? Having friends over and want to impress with a lovely 'posh' dessert but want a low calorie receipe so as not to ruin my calorie intake ....

I love pavlova , heavy on the fruit and low on the cream. Usually use bought meringue nests as I've never managed to make them properly, a wee bit of home made lemon curd in the bottom, lots of rasps and a wee spoonful of cream or marscapone. Looking at it , don't think it's really low cal....but individual portions help with portion control!
Will be watching this thread as I have a very small pudding repertoire.

How about a Fool of some sort? Most mix fruit with cream but I make it with greek yoghurt or even silken tofu mixed with different fruits. Placed in a fancy tall glass and sprinkled with chopped roasted nuts, hazelnuts are nice. Yum, and idiot proof!! I love a gooseberry fool, lovely acidity and refreshing.

Fresh or frozen berries in individual ramekin dishes. Top with Greek yoghurt and chill. Heat grill and put a spoonful of soft brown sugar on top of yoghurt. Pop under grill until sugar caramelises. Simple, low fat fruit brulee.

Alternatively, make Pilchards' reicpe the night before & sprinkle the sugar over, but instead of grilling, just leave in the fridge. The sugar dissolves and makes a sort of runny syrup over the greek yoghurt topping. I think I prefer this to the grilled version. I particularly like it with grapes &/or strawberries, but any soft fresh fruit would work.

Also http://slimmingworld.me.uk/desserts.html has got some low calorie desserts you might like to look at. They're Slimming World so don't have calories attached, but they should be easy enough to work out.
