5:2 Cookery Discussion, Tips & Ideas

Hi
Am having problems finding meals which we both can enjoy on our fasting days, the 600/500 calories make a huge difference as he can eat more than me! Have bough MM's book and another one looking for food we both enjoy but many recipes include peppers, and other hated foods so am struggling. My husband has lost 7lbs and I have lost only 3 since Feb 2 nd He is delighted I am fed up ( not literally!) Any suggestions please?
have read on here that most people just add either bread or an extra potato to the mans allowance to make it up to 600

for meals i just fo what i normally would have but without the carb and a smaller portion with more veg

recent fast dasy have been omlettes, chicken stir fry, quorn shepherds pie, , lamb cabbage and leeks with a small spud, gammon and salad etc

hope this helps
Hi i'm told the "Hairy Bikers" have a very good book out. I think most people would just have lean meat/fish and lots of veg.
I get the Waitrose Weekend free newsspaper every week, and Recipe section in the middle has "everyday meals" which are calorie counted, and invariably under 500 cals, so you could have them, with extra veg to make yours up to 500, and some rice/potatoes, or just a bigger portion to make a plate upto 600 cals.

Looking at some lovely ones here from the last few weeks - pork ragu, Bacon chilli Ratatouille, salmon with leman and harissa etc etc

you wouldnt mind posting the salmon with harissa would you - that sounds delicious - or are there links to the waittrose site? i dont use them so no idea :-)
My husband and I usually have a Hairy Dieters meal and my husband has a pudding of yogurt to make up the extra calories.
Thank you all for your suggestions
Make something and divide it 5/11 and 6/11 ? or for simplicity 5/12 and 7/12 so cut the pie at 5 o'clock.
Have to say that I just give him a bit more than I have. Although what's now happened with us is that I could eat the same as him in the evening if I want as I only have the evening meal plus some splashes of milk in my coffee/tea during the day. Whereas he has some yoghurt in the morning and and an apple mid-afternoon.
Since our evening meal is always packed with veggies, I still couldn't eat as much as him as I just can't take the volume.
We have breakfast, so if that's scrambled egg and smoked salmon, he has 2 eggs and more salmon, or of it's porridge, more of that and extra fruit with it. Then in the evening he has a slightly larger portion of protein. Men lose weight faster than women, almost invariably, but in germs of percentage body weight loss you may be on a par. My husband has lost 15kg to my 9... I have lots of meal ideas on my blog, http://focusonflavour.com/. I also find the BBC Good Food website and app very useful - they have a low calorie section with lots of good suggestions, though I usually modify them to use less oil and less sugar.
